Remarks

Management is not so student friendly but all the goods / bads are depending on students community. They use to take decisions by general body meeting - unique structure for decision making.

Course Curriculum Overview

It's course curriculum is based upon AICTE, fully technical operation and research based with significant alplication knowledge. Examination are well structured with ingernal examinations. It's an autonomous university so the systems are well organised.

Placement Experience

Placement of Jadavpur University Kolkata is just superb. The placement cell is fully controlled by students itself. Hence companh invitation, schedule making and operating the cell is mainly operated by students headed by Central Placement coordinators ( Elected Student) and Placement Officer ( authority member). Placement cell is fully transperent.

Annual Tech Fest ( Srijan) annual Fest ( cultural ) - Sanskriti, departmental Seminar / workshops of Chemical Engineering - ChemInnova, departmental Freshers, Departmental sports Fest - ChemAthlon, departmental Reunion - ChemBridge, departmental farewell - ChemAdiew, Union Freshers - UTURN, union annual Sports meet - ParodorSHE, Chayanat, Chayapath and also fests of respective clubs and societies.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Most Feasible, only 11k for 4 years. It's the most cheapest engineering college with a faboulous campus and getting degree from a 5 star university. Hostel facilities available but not fully residencial. Hostel fee is approximately 25 rupees for electricity and bed charge with 1700-1800 approximately food / mess charge.

Fees and Financial Aid

I hadn't got any scholarship, because my family annual income is more than 10lacs. Bo need to take any loan due to low fees structure.

Campus Life

Campus life is the best. Fully freedom. you can do whatever you are interested. you can go for anything. Campus is fully free for students, no need to show any Id too to take enter in campus. Gender ratio in engineering is low while it's fine overall.labs are world class. Playground is maintained by CAB, so many clubs and societies ( with annual 5/- charge).

Hostel Facilities

No I hadn't, because I'm a local student, i.e, my home is not too kuch distance from jadavpur University kolkata campus. So i was not able to apply for the hostel. Because our university is not fully residencial.

Alumni/Alumna

The alhmni network is just amazing. One of the oldest Engineering college. Alumni are known as ' Jodubongsho'. They are so helpfill too.

Admission

I got admission with a rank in WBJEE ( must be within 1500 AIR), AND THEN HAVE TO GO ThrOUGH 3 LEVEL counselling process.and through that the final merit list prepared and in this way admission in engineering faculty take place. It's a world famous technical school.

Faculty

Facilities are world famous and so reputed. They are All PhD holders ( some of them also have Post PhD). Most of them are alumni of Jadavpur University itself, so they are much accustomed to the student community and culture. Professors are generally highly qualified with extraordinary teaching skills.

Placement Experience:

Eligibility for placement is from 3rd year,with tier 1 companies visiting like Google, Amazon along with mass requiters like TCS, Capgemini, Wipro etc.Last year heights placement package was 72LPA offered to 15 students and average was 2-3 LPA.

Okay college and decent placement

Placement Experience:

The campus placement is same as all low 3 tier colleges which is nearly 4-5 lpa average salary given by mass recuitor companies .The companies are infosys , ltimindtree , accenture , ibm , capgemini , cognigent , etc .The placement rate is nearly 60 to 70 percent.

Heritage Institute of Technology: A Detailed Observation

Placement Experience:

The students become eligible for campus placements from third year that is after 5th semester. Companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant and IBM are amongst the mass hirers. Almosy 80 percent of the students get placed every year and the top 10 percent of the students receive high paying job offers. The average package is around 4.86 LPA and in 2023, the highest package was 16 LPA and in 2022, the highest package was 44 LPA. Talking about my future plans, I wish to pursue my masters abroad after completing my undergraduate course here.

Plans after getting the degree: My plans depends on placement.If I get a job of around 15 LPA then I will not do master degree and if I get job of around 4-5 LPA then I will do master for further great opportunities

Placement Experience:

Despite the low fee structure, my college provides a good placements. Almost every student of CSE Dept who sit for placement, gets the placement between 4lpa - 6lpa. Last year the highest package was ?12 lpa. ECE department has the lowest percentage of placements. And other engineering departments have between 60-70% placement. All the mentioned above is the description of in campus placement. Not many students of my college opt for out campus. But if they do, they get good placements as per the reports. In 2021 a student secured the job in Microsoft, with the placement of ?45 lpa (out campus).

Like my main was getting to IIT which I couldn't as U couldn't clear JEE advanced.So my next option was to choose between NITS and JU.So clearly choose JU because it completes our BE in 10k whereas the fees of NITs are really high.So as I gave JEE in 2024 my jee main rank was something around 64K (95.5 percentile) and my wbjee rank was 2341 and got alloted food Technology and biochemical engineering in jadavpur university.The process to get into our college is to give wbjee and if u are a general your rank should be within 2500 to get into this premium college....Read More

Homebound Forward with Jadavpur University

I have always wanted to study in Jadavpur University in one of their literature departments since I was a kid. This was a way of achieving a tiny dream of mine. Moreover, the Comparative Literature Department is the best in all entire Asia and the first one in the country. I wanted to experience the greatness of this course and how the canons of this literature were formed here. It is also the topmost State Public University and 9th in NIRF I wanted to be a part of an institution that could be great to this extent. The admission took place on the basis of a merit-based entrance examination. The seats are limited; therefore, only the top 15 students out of almost 800-1000 who appeared for the exam were selected. The Pros and Cons of Joining Jadavpur University Masters of Arts in Economics

1) I applied for Delhi School of Economics, however couldn't manage an admission due to the extreme cutoff on CUET exam for the same. I had confirmed admission from North Bengal University, however it was not feasible since I had a choice in Jadavpur University. Jadavpur University has the best rank among all other colleges I had a confirmed admission to, so I chose this University. 2) I wanted to study in Delhi School of Economics, but couldn't make it there due to the extensive cutoff in CUET which I unfortunately couldn't clear. 3) Jadavpur University conducts its own internal exam for admission into its esteemed Masters of Arts [M.A.] programme. However one can get through by CUET exams as well, however that needs a decent score.
