Remarks

Only positive reviews about my college, I really enjoyed it right from first year to intership, I tried to enjoy each moment of my college. Of course there were ups and downs.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

4. 5 years + 1 year Intership after which you will be given Permanent Registration number from the Travancore Cochin Medical Council & you will be able to practise modern medicine any where in India. Total 9 semesters, 4 University exams plus the practicals and other examinations. Loads of stuff to study.

Placement Experience

4.5

You could practise in any hospital in India after completion of intership. Intership is the most hectic period of the entire course. You will be exposed to lot of cases, handling emergencies. You will get good clinical exposure. Stipend is 25000/- per month

College Events

4.5

There are lots of sports and arts festivals held throughout the year, zonal championships, cricket leagues. Moreover, there will be a State level event held annually where students of all medical colleges in Kerala will participate

Fee Structure And Facilities

25000/- per year. The fee is much feasible and the cheapest in the state. Moreover, you will get 300000 as stipend in the intership, so in total, you don't have any expenses as academic fees here

Fees and Financial Aid

Minority scholarship by the state Government, SC ST grands available. You could also apply for various scholarships of Central Government and other non governmental organisations, if you are are eligible.

Campus Life

3.5

Female predominantly, In my batch there were 100 girls and 50 boys. There is no gender discretions or caste based criticisms. All are treated equal. Unlike Northern states of India, here you will get a peaceful atmosphere to study and enjoy your college life.

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostels consists of separate boys and girl s hostel, good ambience, 24*7 water and per supply, mostly double rooms, reading hall, badminton court, gym, football ground, subsidised Mess facility, and travel also

Alumni/Alumna

There is Tdmc alumni association. There conduct various cme programs for targetting post graduation studies, they organiser workshops regularly and Carter they needs of the students. This is very good facility if the college

Admission

Through Neet Ug nation wide entrance exam. More than 10 lac students across the country compete for this toughest examination, barely 1% students get the chance to study the course in Government sector.

Faculty

4

First year and second year faculties are good, but the final year teaching is at an average level. There will be none to look after your studies. You have to find out the cases and read from text books, correlate & study. Being a Government medical College, nobody will force you to study here.

The academics are well scheduled here. The class strength is of 250 students. There are a lot of faculties to help you with the academics. The HOD of the aubject coordinates the academics of that subject. Internal exams are conducted regularly.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course not due to the curriculum..i qlways dreamed of becoming a good doctor. The level.of satisfaction you get in this profession wont be anywhere else. The modernization of curriculum has stressed on the clinical aspects which i think is the core of medicine. We have been taken to bedside and taught to examine patients diagnose the case and interpret imaging. Also the skill lab clears the obstruction we face in a real life like we are being trained in BLS and ALS. Our junior batches are also taken to trivandrum medical college to see autopsy which in fact is a real opportunity. The course could improve in a way that apart from academics it must give importance to sports arts also which is not promoted in our college. Also revisions classes can be made effects by conducting small test papers chapter wise instead of taking chapters on repetition. Exams are almost done in an effective way. The course is actually very difficult compared to others. So much effort has to be put in from both students and Teacher's side.

I chose MBBS as it has been one of my dreams since my childhood and it's my parent's dream more than mine. Faculties teaching in the First year min qualification is a master of science in the particular subject and from the second year onwards the minimum qualification is MBBS for every faculty. Three exams per year and you have to pass any one exam to write in university exam and it's somewhat difficult to pass if you start studying at last

Remarks:

The hostel and college infrastructure are a little poor compared to other colleges but it is expected with the minimal fees given. There are a lot of festivals and programs and a healthy political atmosphere. The non violent conflicts between the two opposing parties lead to good development in the college.
