This college always stands by you in all the steps you take, right from the first day of the admission to the placement day. This is one of the oldest colleges for marine engineering with courses like B.Sc and diploma too.
Course Curriculum Overview
The exams here are semester wise, which means we have a total of 8 semesters on a whole. The evaluation is percentage basis, securing 70% is a decent score. In the syllabus, we have prototype workshops, two months of IND training, ship visit and, swimming and fire fighting classes.
Placement Experience
As per the ranking we have obtained, we are placed, The interview process includes test (preliminary) and the personal interview. Some of the companies that visit us for the placement drive are SCI, Synergy, ESSAR and Thome.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Yes, the fee is feasible to most of them as this is a central college, otherwise, marine engineering would cost high. The fee is about nine lakhs for all the four years of the course, inclusive of all the accommodation like lodging and food.
Fees and Financial Aid
Yes, scholarship facilities are available as this is a central government college. Students with good educational records are awarded up to 3 thousand per semester, The other scholarship schemes by the government are also available which will be notified when necessary.
Campus Life
We celebrate many days at this college like the IMU day, annual sports day, swimming competition, tech fest and model making, all the students can take part in these events. There are also DJ nights and debates.
Alumni/Alumna
The alumni network is very strong in here, be it academic help or career guidance all the seniors are very supportive and helpful in this matter, this is one of the oldest colleges for marine engineering hence we have a lot of seniors to rely on.
Admission
I cleared IMU CET with a good rank (within 500) and then applied for this institute. This exam is similar to JEE. The application processes are all done online. Based on your ranking you are sent a call letter for counselling.
Faculty
We have only two to three lectures in a day, most of them are visiting faculties with great years of experience in the field some of them are our seniors, they share their experiences in the job with us and most of them are either IIT graduates or hold a PhD.
