Course Curriculum Overview

The course is highly focused on research. The syllabus aims to provide advanced knowledge of the subject to the students to bring out their innovative nature. The exams are application based and test the critical thinking ability of the students.

Placement Experience

The placement and job opportunities in the field are enormous. Recruitment process at the campus are managed by the placement cell of the college. The college keeps the students updated with various job opportunities.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure for the programme is as follows: Tuition fee First year 4,720 Second year 3,920 Total fee 8,640 Thus the total fee for the programme can be considered as quite feasible for the students.

Campus Life

The college organise many extra curricular activities from time to time for overall development of the students. The labs are highly efficient and we'll equipped with latest technology equipment to promote research.

Admission

Eligibility: Graduation degree in anthropology from any recognized University. Admission forms are available online. Submit the form with necessary documents. Admission will be granted on the basis of scores obtained in the entrance exam.

Faculty

The faculty is highly qualified and dedicated. They teach in very lucid manner to make the students easily understand the concepts. They give more emphasis on student response time in classroom. They are very supportive and helpful.

Likes

Laboratories facilities are amazing as it is a premium institute. All the labs contains instrument which are available only in institute of national importance o
Faculties are amazingly qualified as well as friendly for solving your doubts
You get multiple opportunities for the industrial experience as internship. This institute provide amazing placement opportunities with high salaries.

Dislikes

The area of the campus is small leads to chaos. Which will be averted after shifting to new campus
Due to the small campus sitting places are very small
Hostel facilities and rooms are very poor.

Placement Experience:

2nd year students are eligible for the campus placement. Sai, Hetero, mendine, dr. Reddys etc companies visities for the campus placement. Offers ranges from 5-12 lpa. 60% students gets placed, 10% goes for higher studies and others get job off campus in my department. Other departments has 100% placement. My plans are pHd from Niper as it provides vast knowledge and instrumental exposure.

The Techno Experience

Likes

Practical Exposure with hands on training is always good for personal growth
The laboratories were well equipped with state of the art instruments
Entrepreneurship was encouraged and it really helped us with designing future start ups.

Dislikes

Lack of scholarships for the needy is one thing that needed to be worked on.
There was a distinct lack of encouragement to pursue extracurricular activity.
Sometimes it felt like it would have helped if we had a mental health counsellor onboard with the department.

Placement Experience:

Techno India University has a strong campus placement. Several students got jobs during the last semester, and I am one of them. Some others choose to wait for better opportunities. Some joined good startups. The package was nominal as we were all freshers. After getting my degree, I planned to pursue corporate experience and then join a lab for my PhD.

Comprehensive Review of MSc Life Sciences in Presidency University, Kolkata.

Likes

Well equipped laboratories with all necessary instruments and chemicals and whatever that is required. Even Electron microscope are available
Senior and Junior relationship is great, and PhD scholars often guide you in studies and in Life
Canteens, Playground, Books shops are near or inside the Campus with Department and Central Library with access to many books and online resources and WiFi

Dislikes

Politics is on peak since great colleges in india such as JNU are engaged in political activities
Attendance above 75 percent is mandatory to appear for exams
The duration of practical can be of 4-5 hours at a strech sometimes apart from Theory classes

Placement Experience:

Not all courses provides placements. But Placements are often common in departments such as Geology, for other departments, faculties can provide letters of recommendations and absorb as PhD scolars after PG completion and satisfactory performance

My thoughts on our beloved Sidho Kanho Birsha University.

Likes

The most I liked about my university is the infrastructure and availability of facilities for our studies.
Second thing I like are our professors . They help us in every aspect of our educational or personal life .
Third thing I like the most is my batchmates who gives me encouragement for pursuing my studies.

Dislikes

The university is a bit far from the Purulia city . So the connectivity is a problem.
I think if we get some extra hours of the lab facilities, that will be great.
Water purifier are available in some of the floors I think the number should be increased.

Placement Experience:

The campus placement of our university is quite good and it is getting better day by day. Especially our chemistry department is doing great in this field. Last year our dept almost hit 100% placements and the highest package was of 5 lpa. I am planning to peruse my PhD after MSc.

My thoughts on our beloved Sidho Kanho Birsha University.

The main reason behind choosing the Sidho Kanho Birsha University is to peruse my masters in chemistry from my home university which I am more habitual to. I persued my bachelor's from the same university and my home town is nearby from the university so these are the main reasons for choosing this university. Amoung several universities i applied for I got selection from Vidyasagar University and burdwan university. And because these colleges are away from my home town so I choose my home university over these . Yes I got rejection from the IIT Kharagpur. I didn't make it to there because my mark for the qualification for this university was not upto the mark. My university gives admission to students in behalf of their marks in the bachelor's degree. There is two quota , one is for home students and one is for outside university students. I got the seat in home students category. The cutoff was 82.5% for the admission to chemistry masters program in our university....Read More
