Remarks

The college management is very good and there have been no bad remarks about the college as per my knowledge. The college is very enthusiastic about social welfare.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

As NHCE is an Autonomous College, the subjects and topics we learn are updated as often as needed, so that students learn the latest of technologies and not outdated stuff. The curriculum is groomed to provide industry specific knowledge to the students. In a addition, there are a number of extra and co curricular activities that take place thouroughout the academic year which greatly helps the students to expand their knowledge and learn new things. Apart from these activities a number of companies visit the college to interact with the students by conducting trainings and conferences. There are also at least 2 industry specific industrial visits to popular companies. All these activities help the students in securing on-campus placements.

Placement Experience

4.5

The Computer Science department has the highest number of placements, followed by Information Science and Electronics and Communications Engineering. For the CS department companies such as IBM, Cisco, Capgemini etc. visit. In every placement process there are some rounds. The first round is the aptitude test, followed by technical round. After that there is a group discussion. Once the 3 rounds are cleared there is a face to face interview. If a student clears all the rounds he gets placed. The placements cell of the institution is amazing. They are always trying their best to train students keeping in mind about the placements. Special training programs are conducted for better placements from the 5th semester onwards.

College Events

4

A lot of events in all fields take place here at often times. There are so many events taking place that it is very hard to name all of them. Under the technical events, a lot of workshops are held in the college. There is also a mega event called Tech Tatva where other college students too participate in tech related competitions. Every department has to conduct at least 2 events in every semester, and due to these competitive activities student's knowledge is greatly maximized. There are a number of cultural events that take place as well from fashion shows to art competitions to drama and skits presentations. The main fest of the college is Sargam which is held on every odd semester and lasts for up to 2 days. This is one of the biggest fests in Bangalore, where students from in and around come to enjoy and have fun for the 2 days. In the even semesters functions like traditional day and Revelation are held. All these fests and events make this college a reputed institution in Bangalore.

Fee Structure And Facilities

To start with, every department has more or less the same fee structure. Those who are admitted thourough KCET and COMEDK have to pay 50000 rupees college fee (excluding KCET and COMEDK fee). Those who are admitted thourough management or donations seat have to pay 3 lakhs(all departments). There is enough transparency when it comes to the fee break down.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college offers very few scholarships opportunities. The criteria is to be the highest score of your respective department. The criteria for another scholarship is to be the highest scorer in the whole college irrespective of the department.

Campus Life

4

The campus life is great. Every thing that is required for a student is available inside the campus, ranging from all types of food, stationary to medical assistance. The gender ratio 8 boys to 6 girls (8:6), which is fair enough. There are students from all parts of India, and a fair number from Nepal too. There is zero tolerance for illegal activities, ragging, discrimination etc. inside the campus. The college is very strict when it comes to such bad activities. The are around 7 special labs that are a collaboration between the company and the college.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

Yes I have. The hostels are great. There are 4 boy's hostel(1 off campus, and 3 inside campus) and 2 inside campus girls hostel. The hostel rooms are 1, 2, 3 and 4 sharing rooms. The cost of hostel is around 100000 rupees per year. The cost of PG would be around 70000 rupees per year.

Alumni/Alumna

Seniors here are very good. They are friendly and help the juniors with their studies and other works. They give you great insights on their experiences and boost our confidence.

Admission

I entered this college thourough an all Karnataka entrance exam known as KCET(Karnataka Common entrance Test). All the students who score less than the cut off rank will get admission to the college. The admission fee thourough KCET is around 52,000 Rupees plus college fee. The college fee here is 50,000 Rupees and it varies from college to college. Once all the payments are done you are admitted to the institution. I have opted for Computer Science Engineering course as it is one of the most popular of all courses, and will definitely be in demand in the near future. Also, NHCE is known for its campus placements in the IT department.

Faculty

4.5

The faculty of the institution are well trained and have many years of experience in teaching. I say averaging to about 10 years of experience. The average age of the teachers could be 45 years old. There is a perfect blend of experience and understanding. The teachers are also very good at providing clarity to the subject, as almost all the teachers here have an MSc degree or a PhD. The faculty members are very friendly and easily approachable, This greatly builds the student teacher rapport and benefits the students. All the teachers are very well experienced and have industrial experience and certifications.

From your 7th semester you become eligible to get placed and it is mandatory to get internship before you get placed which the college helps you to get and around 400-500 companies visit, and a good amount of offers are made by them. The average package stands somewhere around 11LPA -12LPA and the highest goes to 50LPA-60LPA and the median stands around 9-10LPA.

Course Curriculum Overview:

As I'm in 1st semester. I will update you after my exams. But one good thing is that from this year, internals and externals will hold same weightage i.e., 50/50 If you can score more than 45% in internals which wouldn't be that big of a deal because they'll ask most the questions from class notes. Most of the faculties are average I would say. But some are good professors too. I chose CSE because I find these topics interesting since junior school. And everyone is just jumping into cse is a reason too lol.
