Remarks

The infrastructure of college is a little small. As the college is near city heart the campus is small crowded with buildings. But have enough playgrounds. But comparing to other colleges a little small. But it ensures interbranch relations and promote good relations among all students.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Now the curriculum has been modified. As far as I know the curriculum is so student friendly and research oriented. It equip the students with new technologies to face the emerging needs of the modern world. With an updated syllabus i feel students could handle modern engineering problems as well as life situations very well. Labs are arranged inorder to ensure maximum practical knowledge. Heat and Thermal Lab is my personal best. Even the modern BMW engine is available there for study purposes. Campus always promote and aids research activities. Exams are too often. In a semester of approx 4-5 month 2 internal exams and 1 main exan will be there and a lot of assignments. But it will improve the thorough knowledge and base in subjects.

Placement Experience

4.5

Campus placement are always good. 60-80% of students are getting placed thourough campus placements. Placement and Career development wings hold a good role in this. Well known companies like L&T, TATA, Infosys, Mahindra, MRF takes students after interviews. Some students are getting placed thourough internships also. College doesn't provide internships, but gives oppurtunities and aids. For intenship purposes college provide fund upto 5000.

College Events

4.5

We have now Hestia which is a well known techno-cultural fest across kerala and some south indian states. It is organised for 4 days. Students from almost all colleges thouroughout kerala participates in the fest. Workshops are conducted by prestigious companies and cettificates are offered by Institutes like IIT.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure is feasible. Being a college with government aids, the fees are too low compared to private colleges offering the same course. And quality of education is also good. If we don't choose hostel per year only we have to pay around 12k (Inc exam fee).

Fees and Financial Aid

Scholarships provided by state and central government for the needful childrens are available (central sector scholarships, e-grantz, MCM). A plenty of other private scholarships are also available like Muthoot Scholarship, KEAN USA, etc. College also give scholarship called TKM MCM for the students who are needy and maintain good academics.

Campus Life

3.5

Plenty of national and international workshops, events and summits takes place in colleges. College have independent political views. College promotes extra-curricular activities. Our college teams hold many good ranks in National events conducted by SAE, ASME etc. College team excells in state wise sports competitions. College have participation and good team in almost all sports category viz, cricket, football, handball, chess etc.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

Hostel life is awesome. Unlike college campus, hostels have good infrastructure. First year and Second year hostels are seperate. In 3rd and final year the stay is in another hostel. Girls also have a seperate stay. Hostel have a good mess and dining hall. Every hostels have an indoor multi-gymnasium and playground. Hostels provide a calm atmosphere. Every room have 3-5 students. After first year hostel rooms are limitted. PG's and private hostels in the same rate are available around the college.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumnus of college is great and wide. They always aids for the events in college. They always keep contacts with the college. Alumnis helps students in many situations. They advises students when they faces crisis and support them. Some offer internships in their companies. Some visit and interact with students. They aid in the development of college.

Admission

While studying at +2, we apply for KEAM Entrance Exam conducted by State Board. The exam is usually conducted at the last of April. There will be 2 papers, one entirely dealing with +1, +2 mathematics and the other with physics and chemistry (70%- physics and balance chemistry). After scoring a minimum cutoff, candidates are eligible to be in ranklist. Rank list is prepared by giving equal weightage to Entrance score and Higher Secondary Examination marks for Physics,Chemistry, and Mathematics. After that ranklist are published and candidates could apply for colleges under state government. Colleges are alloted according to their choices and ranks. There are 3 allotments and 2 supplementary allotment. We could lock allotment by paying the fees. I got TKMCE in my 3rd allotment. I chose Mechanical Engineering over other branches as I am passionate about machines and automobiles and always likes to know how those things works.

Faculty

4

Faculties are well qualified. Most of them hold doctoral degree from prestigious institutes like IIT's and NIT's. Some may have post-doctoral fellowship too. Facualties are very good in their profession. They know how to handle the students and how to present classes in lucid way. They always maintain a friendly bond with students. They are always approachable. They guide students very well and promote them in co-curricular and extra curricular activities. They motivate students to achieve their goal.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is the worst. Teachers rush through the portions so that they can finish at the earliest. It may be because the university has a unjustifiable timetable. There is very little practicals given. The ones that are given are just for namesake.

Placement Experience:

The students usually start appearing for campus placements in their 6th semester. The training for the campus placements is started for all the students from the 4th semester. Many companies visited for campus placements. But one main problem is that most of them were low packages. Around 4LPA. Some were between 4-6 and a very few between 6-10. Most of them got placed in our batch in some company.
