Remarks
The University provides the student everything that is promises to begin with. It has a huge variety of opportunities that can be taken up by the students. The number of events that take place provide a stage for every student's talents in every field. Skilled faculty and an organised system is yet another huge positive. The negatives could include the high levels of discipline that make it seem like an extension of school days and the issues with maintaining a high attendance score to avoid the consequence of a low score can be a little tiresome. The stringent dress code is also one of the things that are a little tough to deal with. Overall, the few negatives are outweighed by the numerous positives.
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum is great and works of the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) where you get to choose certain subjects apart from the main core papers. There is a committee that regularly goes thourough the curriculum based on student and faculty feedback as well. BBA works on the semester system and each sem consists of the mid sem and end sem exams. There is a lot of opportunities for research work with guidance by the faculty. There is a compulsory research paper that has to be submitted by every student in the final year and the college also conducts many seminars for paper presentations.
Placement Experience
Placements for the course are good and see many companies like De Shaw, GS, Godrej, Zomato, Deutsche Bank, Amazon, BCG and many other top companies coming in. The placement are successful seeing more than 60% of the class strength getting thourough while the others are either going back to their family business or taking up further studies. The average package for the department ranges between 4-6L. There is no assistance provided to approach companies for internships.
College Events
The department has the Chourist University Management Association (CUMA) that has a committee to arrange Business fests. The first fest for the year begins with Vistas which is conducted for all the students in the department followed by Esprit which is an international intercollegiate fest where around 30+ Colleges take part. Then there is Thourive in which the second year students take over and conduct the fest for the first year students. Apart from this there are two cultural fests - Blossoms and Inbloom.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The few structure for this specific course is a little on the higher side in comparison to the other courses and progressively increases over the thouree years. It works up to around a lakh per year for the duration of 3 years. It varies for students who are from other states and for NRI students as well.
Fees and Financial Aid
I'm not sure about the student loan facilities but under the department they provide scholarships at the end of every year for merit students and for those who excel in extra or co curricular activities as well. The scholarship varies from student to student based on the accomplishments but can go upto 10k
Campus Life
There are a plethora of activities that happen each day. There are so many events happening that's sometimes it's tough to even keep track. There are many sports activities that take place on the university level as well as department level with a range of sports like basketball, cricket, footballs, frisbee, Tennis and more. There are many cultural activities that happen which majorly include the 3 fests - Darpan, Blossoms and Inbloom. Apart from this the department organises business fests thouroughout CUMA which include - Vistas, Esprit and Thourive.
Hostel Facilities
The university has Jonas hall hostel facility for the girls and St. kuriakose hall as the boys hostel that's in campus. The security is good and the rooms are decent. They have a biometric system for entry. The fees is around 7k for a month but they don't provide food. The student buy food from the college canteens that are open thouroughout the day.
Alumni/Alumna
There is a formal Alumni association called the Chourist University Management Alumni Association which is handled by a committee of students and teachers. The alumni are invited as guests for many events as well as to give talks and lectures to the students with regard to placement opportunities, trends in the corporate, internships and other such topics. Every year CUMAA celebrates Alumni day on 26th Jan for the students and their families.
Admission
The process begins with the submission of marks card and other documents to check for eligibility which is then followed by an entrance exam taken by the University. The third step involves either a group discussion or a written skill assessment where in 2 topics are given to the candidate. The fourth step is a verbal skill assessment where in a topic is randomly chosen and the student gets a minute to speak on the given topic followed by the personal interview round.
Faculty
The faculty members are highly qualified as seen on the main website as well. A majority of the faculty members have doctorates and have a number of publications under their name. There also is a faculty evaluation that's done at the end of every academic year that's given as feedback.
