Remarks

The space inside the college campus is very little. There is no men's hostel within the college campus but there are two ladies hotel in the campus. The is no playground and the road leading to the entrance of the campus is narrow so the college bus creates a block every time it reaches and departs from the college everyday.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course structure of engineering academics in kerala is mainly handled by APJ Abdul Kalam technological university or KTU. The exam structure included two series exams each semester and an university exam at the end of each semester. So a total of 16 series exams and 8 sem exams are conducted. The series exams are evaluated in the college itself by our teachers and the sem exams are evaluated by the team of top teachers by the university. The two series exams makes the college life a bit hectic but the lab sessions are not that tiresome.

Placement Experience

4.5

Our college has a division or a sort of separate department called ADAMS established by the automobile manufacturer Mercedes Benz so as to provide practical and professional skills to the person who enrolls in their course on the details of the structure and working of their cars. The have donated there of there cars to the ADAMS department for studying on of which was added recently. Many companies like TATA consultancies, Bosch, Mahindra, Microsoft, IBM, WIPRO etc come to our college annually for placement and many of the students get placed after the interview conducted by them. Last year the UST Global company recruited one of my seniors for a job for 3 years for a stipend of 21 Lakhs.

College Events

5

Our tech fest is known by the name AAGNEYA and our socio cultural fest is named SARGAM. Tech fest is one of the best in kerala and it includes auto shows, DJ nights, performances by high profile actors singers and celebrities. Sragam is the group programmes participated by the students of the college itself bringing out the cultural talents in the students.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The admission fees was about 8400 rs which included the KEAM registration fees and the college admission fees. Union fee of 700 rs is collected from the students annually for the programmes. Annual fees of about 2000 rs is collected from us as exam fees. It is actually feasible when compared to the other colleges which are private management.

Fees and Financial Aid

I have received Egrantz scholarship which is a government scholarship for lower caste students. I have also availed an education loan from my bank which requires the fees structure for each semester to be presented in the bank which I collect on time of sem registration. Lots of scholarships are provided by the government via college for students including caste based scholarships etc

Campus Life

3.5

Our college doesn't have a proper ground for playing cricket or football but our college cricket team was runners up in the last cricket tournament conducted by the university. The team practices in the kerala university ground. There is no discrimination in the case of gender, race, religion or any matter of that sorts. We have equal participation by everyone. The college conducts annual sports meet and inter class cricket and football competitions.

Alumni/Alumna

The seniors in our college are very friendly especially the mechanical engineering branch seniors. I don't have much connections with alumni but the passouts of our time are very friendly. Seniors are supportive and helpful as well. The social interactions within the college is strong since the infrastructure is not that wide so the students interact with one another much frequently.

Admission

From an young age itself I was fascinated by automobiles and marvelous machines and I dreamt of a job as a mechanical engineer. Soon as I finished my twelvth standard I started preparing for KEAM entrance exam so that I could get an admission in any one of the government engineering college in Kerala. I prepared for mathematics, chemistry and physics which were the subjects required for KEAM. I attended the exam and got a good enough rank to get me an allotment in the mechanical branch of Bartonhill engineering college tvm which was my second preference, my first being college of engineering trivandrum (CET). The allotment memo was available online and we had to take a printout of that and bring our 10th and 12th certificates along other certificates like birth certificate, caste income certificates etc. They vere verified by the college officials on the day of my official admission. I had an interview with the then principal Dr Rajaleksmi on the day of admission and I attended it along with my parents who took care of the paperwork and payments related to admission.

Faculty

Being one of the few government colleges our college has excellent teaching staff composed of top professors and qualified professionals with highly skilled personnel in labs. We also have teachers with doctorate in certain subjects who are very talented and helpful in our academics.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is the worst. Teachers rush through the portions so that they can finish at the earliest. It may be because the university has a unjustifiable timetable. There is very little practicals given. The ones that are given are just for namesake.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is under KTU syllubus do it's fine. There is a change in curriculum coming 2024 which i assume would make a lot of good changes. The curriculum gives you a head start For most of your work, you need to on your own but the faculty is there to help. The frequency of exams is weekly tests + monthly exams. Its not too difficult of an exam.

Currently placements are bit low, due to inflation, but compared to other colleges like KMEA, etc we have better placements similar to Muthoot and all. Placement Experience:

The students usually start appearing for campus placements in their 6th semester. The training for the campus placements is started for all the students from the 4th semester. Many companies visited for campus placements. But one main problem is that most of them were low packages. Around 4LPA. Some were between 4-6 and a very few between 6-10. Most of them got placed in our batch in some company.
