Remarks

VSSUT is the oldest engineering college present in Odisha formerly known as UCE. It is situated near the banks of Mahanadi river, sorrounded by MCL, NALCO etc. It is over 300 acres. Infrastructure is quite average but a lot has changed over years. As we know, Old is gold VSSUT is one of the finest colleges in Odisha.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course curriculum is good. We've lab classes four days every week. Some days are chilled and some are hectic. Friday is hectic compared to other days as we have to spend 250 minutes in the college. Exams are bit hard. We have two semesters every year excluding two internal exams.

Placement Experience

3.5

The placement and job opportunities are average. But if you are a student pursuing BTech in Information Technology or Computer science and engineering then you will be definitely get placed by companies like Infosys, Delloite, Tata consultancy and IBM etc. Delloite offers more compared to other companies. About internship, VSSUT does provide internship. All you have to do as a student is to fill an internship from provided by the college and submit it in both online and offline way.

College Events

3.5

VSSUT conducts two festivals each year. One of them is Samavesh which is a technical event while the other one is Vassaunt, a cultural event. Samavesh is conducted for two days. Many students from other colleges as well as VSSUT participate in this festival. Vassaunt is conducted for three days. It is one of the biggest cultural events in Odisha.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is quite feasible as it's a government funded college. There are two types of students: 1) SSC 2)Non- SSC. For students in SSC have to pay an amount of 85, 000 rupees whereas NON-SSC students have to pay nearly 41, 000 rupees. Hostel fees and development fees are excluded from these fees. Hostel and development fees constitute around 41, 000 rupees.

Fees and Financial Aid

Odisha government provides many scholarship for poor meritorious students studying in VSSUT. They are Prerna and Medhabruti scholarships. As a student all you have to do is fill a scholarship form provided by the college and submit it. Loans are also provided by Syndicate Bank present in the college and other banks outside the campus too.

Campus Life

3

There are different clubs and sports in VSSUT for extracurricular activities. Students with interest in Technology stuffs can attend technical clubs like ROBOTICS, E-CELL, IIC, AVC, PIXELS and students with interest in cultural events can attend cultural clubs like SOULS, VIBRANZ, EMOTICA etc. We have four primary sports in our college. They are BASKETBALL, CRICKET, FOOTBALL, VOLLEYBALL, etc.

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni network is really good. They help you by sharing their experiences and inspire you. About seniors, they are like brothers. They help you both in real life as well as studies. They help us rectify our mistakes. Seniors are really good in the end.

Admission

I've always wanted to become a software engineer. So I wrote JEE MAINS and passed the exam with an average rank. Then I had to apply for INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY in VSSUT through OJEE counseling. After that I had to report to the college on a particular date which is decided by the college. After proper verification of all the documents, I got admitted.

Faculty

4

The faculties are really good. Most of them are holding PhD and M. Tech degrees. They are really helpful. They focus on each and every student and try to help them in every way possible. They are bit strict with studies too.

Course Curriculum Overview:

* I had chosen to do mechanical engineering because I had some bond with machines and it's designing and was also aware with the scopes of mechanical engineering. * In real world the curriculum helped me a lot and still it is helpful, currently I'm preparing for position of junior engineer and there it is quite helpful for me. * I don't think any improvement is required in the course curriculum and teaching methods as everything was good at its place and it's also the responsibility of us (students) to know our curriculum thoroughly and give our best. * Exams were conducted at an interval of 6 months and as said earlier exams conducted were moderate level not too difficult or easy and with studies it can be cleared easily

Placement Experience:

Placements at KIIT University for B.Tech CSE are decent and well structured, especially for students who prepare consistently. Students become eligible for campus placements from the 7th semester, although pre placement talks training sessions and internships start from the 5th or 6th semester. The university has a centralized placement cell that coordinates training aptitude tests mock interviews and company drives. Many reputed companies visit the campus every year including TCS Infosys Wipro Accenture Cognizant Capgemini Deloitte EY Mindtree LTI Bosch HP Amazon and a few product based startups. Mass recruiters make a large number of offers while product and service based companies offer selective roles. The average package for CSE students usually ranges between 4 to 5 LPA, while the highest package can go above 20 to 25 LPA in exceptional cases depending on the company and role such as software developer or data engineer. Around 75 to 85 percent of CSE students get placed through campus placements. Students who remain unplaced usually pursue higher studies startups off campus jobs or competitive exam preparation. Placement success largely depends on individual effort coding skills internships and communication ability. After completing my degree I plan to work in the software industry to gain practical experience and improve my technical skills. Alongside my job I also plan to upskill in advanced technologies and later consider higher studies or specialized roles depending on career growth.

Campus placement i thik it's in your 4 year of engineering only i.e in your 6 semester. There is a lot of companies visited like jsw ,hindulgo and a lot to go . Jsw provides avg package of INR 12 LPA And it selected only 2 students only. I think girls get placement easily as compared to boys ... companies usually select more female candidates....I think I will go for job rather than doing masters degree.
