Remarks
Pros - 1. feasible fee structure 2. College infrastructure is good 3. Labs are average but the equipments are working fine. 4. Academic is good 5. Faculties and seniors are friendly. Cons- 1. The hostel canteen is not up to the mark. 2. Hostel structure (mainly boys hostels) needs to be upgraded. 3. Class tests are a headache.
Course Curriculum Overview
Well, I am in just my second semester so I don't know much about the research curriculum in the college. However, academics are good here. But the laboratories and the library should be upgraded. The exam structure is good. But, class tests are headaches. Test at 4. 30 PM after the whole day class from 8 AM to 4 PM is totally brutal.
Placement Experience
Placement is very poor in our college, to be honest. Only a few companies come and they provide very low wages. That's a disappointing part of the college. That's why we can't completely rely on on-campus recruitment here and have to study seriously for future studies.
College Events
Three events are celebrated every year in our college. 1. Phoenix - which is the cultural fest of our college. I don't know how it is because I'm going to attend for the first time this march. 2- Sports week - To be held 3 - Technovus - Technical fest of the college. Many events related to technology are held.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Surprisingly, the fee structure is very good in this college. 11,000 Rs. per year, in an engineering college is very rare these days. It is totally feasible in comparison to any other engineering college in India. I'm very much thankful for this feasible fee structure as I am from a middle-class family.
Fees and Financial Aid
I have never inquired about the scholarship in the college because the college fee is too feasible so I didn't need a loan or anything at that time. However, at the time of admission, I got to know that it provides scholarships to financially weak students which is very much helpful.
Campus Life
The gender ratio is well maintained. 2 out of 3 people are male which means 60% of the students are boys so there is no kind of diversity regarding gender in our college. Labs are average. The gym is very nice. The library should have been a little big (according to me). We have nice and big playgrounds for sports like cricket and soccer.
Hostel Facilities
The hostels need a buff. They are way too old and some of them are wrecked. However, in the last month, I have seen some workers renovating the hostels. So, I hope, the hostels will be good for living. Right now, I am staying in a PG near to college which costs me around 5,000 Rs. including rent, electricity bill, water, and food.
Alumni/Alumna
I am living in a PG that accommodates up to 40 students. Right now there are 28 students of which 18 are my seniors. They are from the same college as mine and they are very helpful. As I am an engineering student, I require lots of accessories for lab and other aspects. Seniors provide me that equipment and I are very much thankful to them. In the college also, seniors are very helpful.
Admission
1. Exam 2. counseling after the result 3. admission I was fond of stream engineering from my childhood. Jorhat Engineering College is one of the prestigious colleges of Assam established in 1960. It accepts admission through CEE which I appeared after 12th and got admission.
Faculty
All the faculties are highly equipped with a high degree education from prestigious colleges across India. They are friendly in nature with the students and cooperate in every aspect. All of them are punctual and give their best.
