Government Engineering College Bartonhill, Trivandrum

Positive remark- peaceful ambience, immense unity among students, sense of belongingness is high Negative remark- lab facilities could have been better, cafeteria facilities could have been better in terms of choices and seating area.

Course curriculum is vast and a little outdated. Exam structure involves 8 semester exams with 2 internal exams per semester. One semester has a duration of 6 months over which 5-6 theory subjects and 2 practical subjects will be covered.

Around 15 companies came for placement. College doesn't provide internships. We are allowed to go for internships on our own. College organises workshops and seminars which gives way to more career opportunities and exposure

Annual techno cultural fest Aagneya, arts fest Sargam and then all the departments have their own department fest. Workshops are organised as part of the fests as well

Feasible since it's a government college. Fees comes to around 7200 per year. Excluding hostel fees. So compared to private colleges, the fee structure is very cheap. The facilities are also really good.

I had taken the BSNL employees children educational scholarship which provided 6200? per year for students who secured more than 75% aggregate in previous year, whose parent is working in BSNL organization.

Extra curricular activities in terms of cultural fests and activities are good. sports day will be there every year. labs are good but some are poorly maintained. The labs are a bit dusty and old. The new labs are well furnished with high quality equipments

Alumni network is strong. They help in bringing new career opportunities in terms of campus placements. some of the alumni are IAS officers now. They have achieved very ambitious roles. Senior students are a good point of guidance for the juniors.

I wrote the KEAM entrance exam conducted by Kerala government. Based on the marks, a ranklisy was published and we were given an option to give our preferences for the college. Based on rank and our preference, 3 rounds of allotment were made and I got the college on the 2nd round of allotment

Very knowledgeable and experienced. Few of the faculty are contract employees, but they are equally dedicated as the permanent faculty. The engineering math department teachers are very knowledgeable and very systematic.
