Remarks

The college is really good for mechanical and computer science engineering. College also offers auto mobile engineering. The bad remark is that the college doesnt have a proper ground and the college doesnt actually help the students financially.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The university is KTU, so we had a lot of ups and downs as its the initial phase of a university. Most of the colleges quit the courses right after the university came into existence. But scms made it. For mechanical engineering, in the first year, we learn the basics of all other branches and our branch. the core subjects start from 2nd year. we have 2 internal exams and a university exam and the whole academic year is divided into two semesters with 2 university exams.we had 3 industrial visits also.

Placement Experience

1.5

The placement companies that mainly comes to the college is Infosys.majority of the companies are from the IT field. Internships are taken by the students themselves.

College Events

2.5

Scms is also excellent with its arts and cultural fests. There are several programs arranged for students. Igniz is the tech fest that occurs in 2 years and vipanchika is the arts fest that occurs in 2 years, so either of them happens in every year. Other than that there is a union day celebration, Innovation award etc.

Fee Structure And Facilities

When we took admission the fees was too high for management and nri quota students. But for merit students it was 75000. The college charges another 10000 every year for value added course which is not at all effective and worth. The value added course doesnt occur in every year.

Fees and Financial Aid

I have a merit cum means scholarship. During the first year the scholarship was given to students of minority communities with low income and also with high marks. I had good academics so i got the scholarship.from first year onwards the scholarship is awarded only if there is no arriers.

Campus Life

4

The campus like is not too excellent but its fine and normal compared to other colleges. The students and faculties are really the strength of this college. The management always feels too hard to spend money for students.the capital for Most of the programs are arranged by students themselves.

Alumni/Alumna

We gave very low contact with alumni network. But this year there is a re union so i have there will be more connection. But we have a few faculties that are our alumni .

Admission

I went for a career guidance class. From there I personally talked to the tutor. I asked him about taking engineering in a private. He told me to take any core branch. And for that he told me if am opting computer science i could go to rajagiri or if I am taking mechanical i can go to scms.Scms is outstanding for mechanical engineering for over a decade.

Faculty

4.5

SCMS has the best mechanical engineering faculties in private engineering colleges of Kerala. This is the strength of the college. Scms has several nit and IIT alumni and other faculties that have shown their excellence. The faculties are really helpful and friendly.

I chose this course because the curriculum covers key subjects like Python, Machine Learning, Data Science, and Deep Learning right from the early semesters. The inclusion of electives such as IoT, Cloud Computing, and NLP made it future-relevant and versatile.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is the worst. Teachers rush through the portions so that they can finish at the earliest. It may be because the university has a unjustifiable timetable. There is very little practicals given. The ones that are given are just for namesake.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is under KTU syllubus do it's fine. There is a change in curriculum coming 2024 which i assume would make a lot of good changes. The curriculum gives you a head start For most of your work, you need to on your own but the faculty is there to help. The frequency of exams is weekly tests + monthly exams. Its not too difficult of an exam.

Currently placements are bit low, due to inflation, but compared to other colleges like KMEA, etc we have better placements similar to Muthoot and all. We have placement training, and other supports which can help us crack aptitude exams and prepare for placements Almost 70-80% students are placed every year, with an avg package of 4LPA

Placement Experience:

The students usually start appearing for campus placements in their 6th semester. The training for the campus placements is started for all the students from the 4th semester. Many companies visited for campus placements. But one main problem is that most of them were low packages. Around 4LPA. Some were between 4-6 and a very few between 6-10. Most of them got placed in our batch in some company.
