Remarks :
The college has best surrounding. It's covered by trees all around. The faculty team stands out the best one. Negative remarks are that the college is a lot inside a forest area. Its 6 km away from nearby town.
Course Curriculum Overview :
The course I opted is mechanical engineering. It follows the curriculum by KTU - kerala Technology University. It also train the students accordingly for Mtech. The exam structure is simple and comfortable. Adequate amount of time is provided by the university for preparing for exam.
Placement Experience :
My college guarantees 75% placements. The present record shows that more than 85% students have been offered offer letters from top companies like Infosys, TCS, amazon, byjus etc. Mostly IT company's comes for placements. At year 2018-2019 135 students were placed in Infosys. It guarantee placements for students who keep up cgpa above 7. The college lacks internship programmes. The college is presently working on it.
College Events :
My college host the most important event called PPTIA - Pradeep P thevanoor Innovation awards, an event Conducted annually for promoting innovative ideas in students.It is participated by students from schools to colleges from different parts of India. It also promote platform for startup. Apart from that my college host tech fest called IGNIZ every 2 years. It is conducted for a duration of 1 week. Also there are cultural fests, union day, traditional day celebration etc.
Fee Structure And Facilities :
The fees for Merit students who are admitted to college through KEAM entrance exam have to pay 80000 per year. For management seats the fee is around 120000.Also there are benefits for economically weaker students in fees.
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The college offers government scholarship.Also there are concession in fees for students who are economically poor. There is also facility for education loan. The college doesn't offer any scholarships for students
Campus Life :
My college as the best Labs. It has been awarded by the government for the best lab facility. It also has got a beautiful and huge library with all study materials required. In sports our college are the defending champions in kabadi in both boys and girls category. Also they are runnersup in cricket, football. It encourages sports and other talents. Their is a team to support talented students. Also our college has represented in the finals of ASME events held at USA.
Hostel Facilities :
The hostel is shared by 3 students. It has a size of 4m*3m along with a attached bathroom. It lacks AC, TV, and other eletricals. The rooms are spacious.There is also a canteen which provides great variety of food.
Alumni/Alumna :
There are few notable alumnis.Most of the alumnees join the college as assistant professor. Some of them help college in developing the students in building up start-ups. They do support the college to share their success story with the students.
Admission :
I wrote Kerala Engineering Architecture Medical exam (KEAM) a state level entrance exam for engineering. After the rank list of the exam was published I was eligible to apply to 105 engineering colleges in kerala. I preferred mechanical engineering and opted for the best colleges in the list available to me. SCMS was one of the private colleges that I applied. After 2 allotment I was notified that I was eligible for admission at SCMS in the third allotment. And then I went on to be part of SCMS.
Faculty :
My college has the best faculty team that I have seen or heard from other colleges. They support the students regularly. They follow the moto that no student is outstanding or below average, each and everyone are bright and outstanding and they need to be supported to bring the best output in them. The faculty treats each student as their own children and back them when there is downfall.
