College is surrounded by beautiful nature. 7-8 km from college is Hirakud Dam which is the longest Earthen dam in Asia. The Place Burla which college is located is away from traffic and city chaos and is very peaceful place to roam around for getting peace of mind.

Course Curriculum is updated with respect to industrial standard and Exam structure is same as in other Engineering colleges. In a semester- One Mid-Sem and one End-Sem. Total 8 semesters in 4 years. Mid Sem carry 20 marks and End Sem 70 marks and 10 marks is for assignments and attendance. One has to secure good marks and should have good attendance to clear the semester.

Placement is one of the best among any engineering colleges in India.Placement % is around 95-98% every year. Top companies like Infosys, Accenture, Tata Steel, Aditya Birla Group, Vedanta, Deloitte, Wipro, TCS etc recruit every year.

Every year there are many cultural and tech fests which celebrated in college campus. Vassant, Samavesh, Emotica etc are few cultural and technical fests which are celebrated every year. Contributions from these fests come from local companies like MCL, Hindalco, Vedanta.

Since it is a govt college. Fees is minimum among any engg college. Yearly fees is around 26,000. And almost every student get scholarship. So the fees here is almost free. So, students can invest their scholarship amount in purchasing laptops, books etc.

College does not provide any scholarship. But state govt (Medhabruti) gives Scholarship based on marks and state rank in OJEE. Amount is 10,000 every year till completion of graduation. I had received scholarship from IOCL based on my 10+2 marks which was 36,000 every year till my completion of graduation.

Labs are best in class as compared to other engineering colleges.Our Electrical Branch has High Voltage lab which is 2nd in Eastern India.Labs have all modern equipments and every year gets upgraded with respect to industrial standards Students have lot of opportunity to learn and use their theoretical knowledge in Practical classes.College has Sports Campus equipped with Football Ground,Volley Ball ground,Gymnasium which are all free of cost for students.

I was localite.By the way hostel is very good and well maintained.Sports facilities infront of hostel,Best in call mess facilities etc.Every hostel has LAN and Wifi facilities.24×7 water supply and the wardens are also ready everytime to help students in need.

Alumni network is very good. Alumni help in any help needed by the students with respect to placements and financial help for cultural or technical fests. Senior students are very cooperative and help juniors in any help needed anytime.

OJEE Entrance Exam. VSSUT is one of the top state government college in Odisha. It's tough to get admission here. One has to secure within 1000 state rank to get admission in core branches. I cleared OJEE entrance exam and got selected for Metallurgical & Materials Engineering. I joined this college and studied hard and got my branch changed to Electrical Engineering.

Best faculties.They help anytime anywhere. Since it is a government deemed university,Students can have their answer sheets reviewed in mid sems and End sems which help students to understand their mistakes.And Faculties are anytime ready to help students in all fields.Ex- Robotics Society,Mechanical Team which invest their time in making racing cars etc.
