Entrance Preview

SLIET has its own Entrance test names as SLIET SET exam which we can give after 10th or Diploma or degree for PG courses. There was a test organized by SLIET on all INDIA level out of which students with top rankings were selected on the day of couselling.

Course Curriculum Overview

There are four courses available in Sliet, 1. Cerificate program of 2 years ( after 10th equivalent to 12) 2. Diploma of two years(After 12th) 3. Degree of three years (After Diploma) 4. Masters of two years(After degree).

Internships Opportunities

The placement percentage is awesome in SLIET. There is different department is available specially for Training and placement purpose name as Training & Placement cell which act as a link between students and the employment community. Various companies visited during our tenure isTCS, Infosys, Tech mahindra, Hero, TATA, Toyata etc.

Placement Experience

Once you get the Btech with good marks your have full chances to get placement in one the reputed firm. All these firms offers good packages to freshers. Various companies visited during our tenure is TCS 4 lacs in 2008, Infosys 4 lacs in 2008, Tech mahindra 3.5 lacs in 2008, Hero 6 lacs in 2008, Jaypee 7 lacs in 2008, TATA Toyata, ISRO, WIPRO, ESSARL & Hindustan liver, Trident, Godrej, BIRLA soft etc.

College Events

Every year SLIET organises a TECH FEST on all India level in which various reputed Technical universities and college participates in various technical and cultural activities. Variou artist performs on cultural festivals in Tech Fest Cultural India as wel as Muhram cultural nights. The best part is that all these events are organised by SLIET students only. PFB some events I remeber, Hostel Nite Sports Activity, General Meetings, Cleanliness Camp, Hobbies Activities Van Mahotsav Quiz/Essay Writing, Poster Making Group Discussion Social Work / Village Adoption Anti Drug Campaign.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The best part of our college is its fee as it is a central govt. funded deemed university. Our college also run various different courses and have flexibility in its courses. Here students can peruse diploma, B.tech and PG also and the ways of entries in these programs are very flexible. During my tnure with SLIET the fees were arount 20000 rs for one semester of Degree program which also contains Hostels fees. For food around rs 1200-2000 per month differs according to your meal.

Campus Life

In terms of campus SLIET has one of the best campus in an area of around 450 acres with all modern facilities, if you have the desire to achieve somethingalong with good job and you want to explore life its the place to be. It has one of largest student activity Club which includes gym,indoor games and many other facilities. A separate hospital is also available with in the campus which is free from students.

Hostel Facilities

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.
