Solving the Puzzle- NIFT Entrance

The college has a good curriculum and exam infrastructure and can build upon this by making the administrative department of the college more reliant and efficient. It can also grow in reputation by increasing the quality of extra curricular activities provided by college.

The course structure is refreshed every 3 years based on the ever changing needs of the industry and the course has been refreshed in 2019 and has a blend of core subjects required in garment industry as well as a concept of deepening subjects where one can learn a few subjects in depth ranging from subjects meant hard core for management people to students who are more interested towards the technological side of things like Mechatronics, IoT among others. The college also offers extra subjects with a lesser weightage for all round growth of students like yoga, economics, personality development, critical thinking as mandatory and optional subjects for all round growth. The exam structure is more focused towards the practical side of things and the college curriculum is also designed is such a way that most end terms exams are juries rather than written papers where students have to practically demonstrate whatever they have learnt in the entire semester and helps in better understanding of the subject. The college also uses the CGPA system with a direct marking approach rather than relative marking.

NIFT follows a model of centralized placement where a student can sit for placement in any NIFT center with a lot of Indian companies like laghuna, matrix, Arvind, Raymond among others picking up a lot of students across the centers including foriegn companies like Buero Veritas, Future Group, Max, Lifestyle group among others with average package ranging from anywhere between 4.5 lakhs to 7 lakhs with students also being offered to go abroad in their job roles.

The college namely celebrates four events- Janmashtami, Garba, Annual Fest named Spectrum and NIFT converge. NIFT converge is an intra NIFT event in which all the NIFT centers meet at a particular center and compete in different competitions like Volleyball, football, creative writing, speech, Debates etc

The fee structure is a bit expensive but totally worth it if one looks towards the curriculum, facilities provided, and the placement packages and the all round growth of one's own personality during the four years

State governments and NIFT itself offers scholarships to students who are financially deprived based on their academic performance. The academic performance barrier is revised every few years but the household annual income of one's family also plays a role in this.The college also gives scholarship to the socially backward communities identified by the Government of India. The loan facility is provided by Union Bank which is an associate sponsor of NIFT

Labs are really good with all the latest products and gadgets available although sports is something where the college can improve upon with better grounds, infrastructure and by providing trainers to the students who are keen on learning the sports

Alumni networks and senior students are really helpful in this college ranging from needs in exams, juries to contacts in the industry during placements, internships or graduation projects.One must always work towards building a healthy relationship with them

The process is very simple. First of all you have to appear for an exam typically held in last week of january or first week of February and prior to that one has to fill up a NIFT entrance exam form and pay the neccessary fees and get the hall ticket. Dates for all of these are put up in advance on official NIFT website. Once exam is done results are declared on the official website and counseling process takes place in the month of june where students are offered seats in different courses in different centres based upon their ranks and subject to seat availability.

The faculties in the college have a lot of understanding towards what they are teaching and all have done either a masters or a Ph.D and also have worked for a considerable amount of time in the garment or textile industry too. Most of the faculties are genuinely helping, knowledgeable and keen towards clearing the doubts of the students.
