Best college in terms of all things

There aren't any bad remarks as such as the good things about Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology outnumber by far all the little petty things. However I wish that the Central Library facilities as it is today was also present during our time and also the if there had been the Atal Incubation Centre in our days in Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology as it is today, I would surely have become an entrepreneur.

I found the course curriculum very updated and state-of-the-art. The exam structure is good. The exam structure is very fair is mostly focussed on continuous evaluation. The University provides a fair number of chances for us to pass. If we are unable to pass then they also allow us to rejoin on the subjects or take up the subject in a parallel semester. Overall I am very happy with the exam structure. Most of the faculty members are PhD and college as a whole is research-driven.

Yes. Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology provides amazing placements with excellent packages. Nowadays the companies like Microsoft, Amazon, Dell, Wells Fargo, IXIA, TCS, CTS, Infosys, Sony etc. all good companies visit Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology. Some of them provide PPTs to third-year students beyond class hours. This helps the students to avail many internships. Since I was going for higher studies, I didn't avail any internships and placements.

Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology conducts all kinds of events like TED Talks, Entrepreneurship meet, Cultural festival of a week called Kaalrav, Departmental fests like Echelon, Vaastushasmitham, Annual Inter-college quiz called Curiosity, Interschool project competition called Tech Adristha, also Blood Donation camps, cleanliness drives and many many more.

Campus life at Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology is pretty awesome. I believe there were more girls on the campus than the boys. The area was fenced. Labs were up to date with present technologies and a plethora of extracurricular activities both on the technical and non-technical fronts.

Hostel is very comfortable offering attached bathrooms in all rooms with a personal locker. The view or river Teesta from the hostel is amazing. There’s also 24X7 power and hot and cold running water facility in the hostel. However, they don’t allow us to cook anything in the hostel. Mess food is also pretty awesome as our menu was as cosmopolitan as was our college.

I got a sponsored seat from Government, otherwise, we Would’ve needed to sit for a screening test. Post that we were called for counseling. Since my rank was within 50, I managed to get M.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering. I believe, being a faculty member of Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology is one tough job as they monitor the progress of each student individually till they pass out from the college. Despite their regular teaching and research, most of them are excellent administrators as well and also, as I already mentioned, most of the faculty members are PhDs and college as a whole is research-driven. They are most welcoming and encourage the students for chamber consultation beyond working hours. The strongest strength of Sikkim Manipal Institute of Technology is the expertise they have in the form of their team of faculty members.
