This college has been the sole reason I have developed and blossomed into who I am. I owe it all to Xavier's. I have loved every moment of my time here. There is nothing I would take in exchange for my time here.
Course Curriculum Overview
Curriculum is self made as it is an autonomous college. It is a higher order thinking based curricula focused on helping students learn better, especially in the pure science stream. The exams are broken down in to 2 semesters a year and each 80 mark end sem exam is preceded by a 20 mark Continuous Internal Assessment.
Placement Experience
The college does do placements, however I didn't avail of this service as I moved on to higher studies. My fellow students got placed very well and the college only allows the top industries to interview the students.
College Events
Malhar is the Queen of all Inter College events and it has over 3000 Active participants. They have over a hundred events inside it. They even invite popular guests like Dalai Lama and Raghuram Rajan.
Fee Structure And Facilities
It is very inexpensive to study here as the college is aided by the government. The maximum a student would pay in the aided courses hardly ever crosses the 30 thousand Rupees Mark. The fees are to be paid annually.
Fees and Financial Aid
I have not availed of any such opportunity.But the college does provide free education to students who cannot afford. They also provide rail concessions of 50% off for male students and 100% off for female.
Campus Life
There is a dedicated sports department and it is the center from which athletes can go upto National level. They have active cricket and football teams. The football team is considered to be one of the best in the city. The laboratories are of international standards and are really well maintained.
Alumni/Alumna
Yes they are extremely helpful. The alumni association has a rich 100 plus year history. They are extremely helpful to all. They organise events and benefits to help the lower strata of society. They are very nice.
Admission
I applied by filling an online form on the College's website following which they put up a merit list and called me for an interview. In the interview I selected my subjects of Physics Maths and Stats.
Faculty
The faculty is top of the class in the Mathematics department and it was a joy to learn from them! They plan and teach the syllabus really well and cater to the needs of all the students. They also find innovations and share with the pupils.
