PLACE WHERE LEARNING BECOMES FUN

The college is in a very peaceful place and the environment of our college is very good totally covered by the hills. Afterall this is a very good place and also ragging free. I published a paper in SCI journal and got an incentive amount of Rs/-1667. Also got a fund from SMU for our project.

The course curriculum is on par with most of the prestigious colleges all around India. In the first year, we are having common subjects for all b.tech students. From 2nd year we are divided by our department. We have 3 exams all over in one semester. In 2nd and 3rd month of the semester, SESSIONAL 1 and 2 are held. And the last one end semester examination.

The placement here is very good, especially for branches like CSE and ECE. Almost 95% of placement has done in my batch. There are many renowned companies have visited like Microsoft, Dell, Shell, Ericsson, Byjus etc. Yes, collage also provides internship for last sem students and also summer internship.

There are a lot of events organized in our college. There are at least 8-10 events organized as departmental fests and other festivals. "KAALRAV" is the biggest cultural fest in the northeast. It occurs in the month of March for 3 days where national and international celebrities are invited to perform. Technical fest Tech Adrishta and sports fest ATHLIMA has also occurred.

Fee can be considered expensive for a private college. It can be around 13-14 lakhs for 4 years. One can get scholarship up to 30% according to their class 12th marks. State quota and sports quota is also applicable to our collage. For first-year, my fees were approx 2 lakh in instalment. And collage had given us a laptop in the first year.

If any student scored more than 90% in 12th board exams, and/or good marks in mains (depending upon the cutoff of that particular year), he or she may get 100% off on the course fee, only having to pay for the hostel and the mess. However, they need to maintain a CGPA of 8 without any disciplinary case and also no year back.

Life on campus is very good. There are many labs in our college, with the latest equipment and tools. There is a sports complex, Named as Marena, which has a basketball court, a lawn tennis court, a gym, temperature maintained swimming pool, badminton court, table tennis room, yoga room, meditation room, snooker and chess rooms, mirror room, auditorium etc.Having a library and a reading hall.

The alumni network is not very vast as the college is not very old. But comparing to colleges if the same age SMIT has much better alumni. The alumni also keep a good track of what is going on in the college. The senior students guide all the students regarding everything in which they need help.

SMIT organized online and offline test. For online test have to fill the application form that given by SMIT. By participating offline test, I got selected for this collage. There was an admission process for which I had to come to the college. For admission, there was the first branch selection process, also there was a fee payment process (either lumpsum or two instalments).

The faculty of our college are knowledgeable and always help us. The main thing is from 1st year we all are assigned a teacher guardian from our department who keep information about us. our senior teacher Dr R S Bera was a renowned scientist of Manipal Institute has a radar laboratory. Teachers also help us in publishing paper by projects.
