Suraj Nair's Review On Academy Of Maritime Education And Training University - [AMET], Chennai

Overall i am happy to be a part of the AMET University.As considering the communication i have improved my english well by speaking english with others because everybody comes from different part of the country so its importqnt to speak in english.And my mathematics has been improved by the effective teaching and also my curriculum renarks are also good.

The course curriculum is designed and structured very well. The curricullum also include of spoken english course which focuses on overall development of the students communication skills required. They also focus more on labs.

No the college wont provide any internships the internships we by ourself should find it outside. From the college side when they take us to industrial visits.There are chances of getting internships where we had our industry visit

The placements are good in this university.Our seniors get well placed in the reputed companies. Recently 60% of our seniors got placed abroad and in India too. The highest salary offer depends on the student's academic background and interview performance.

There various events celebrated in this university like Diwali,Pongal,Holi,Annual fest And departmental fest same way theres a fest named vizha which is big celebration in Amet university. Similarly all the festivals are been celebrated

The fees structure is expensive.For us in the mechanical engineering is 150000 per year split by three terms In one term we pay 60000.And in other term we pay 40000 and same amount in the third term.

Academy of Maritime Education and Training (AMET) is assisting the deserving students to get their scholarships from various Government Departments like Adi Dravidar and Tribal Welfare Department of Government of Tamil Nadu and Minority Community Welfare Department of Government of Tamil Nadu and the Director of Fisheries, Government of Tamil Nadu. Apart from Government Scholarship, deserving students are also eligible for Maritime Training Scholarship, Merit award and Management Scholarship.

There are N number of extracurricular activities like rowing. And also n number of sports like basketball,football,badminton,tabble tennis,tennis,and also gyms,and swimming all this facilities like court is also there in the academy.

The hostels are good and i have been in the hostel for a year and it was a ball.But they are strict also rules are very strict like after 8pm we cant go out.etc The food is good we can eat either nonveg or veg.But hostel fees has gradually increased this year.

AMET Alumni Association provides the ideal platform for its alumni to maintain connections to their alma mater and fellow graduates. It seeks to extend unique privileges and benefits to its members. The platform endeavours to support new alumni and provide a forum to form new friendships and even business relationships among its members.

The exam structure is better comparatively.The semesters are divided by end and odd semesters.The odd semesters occur in december wheres the end semesters are usually in may.The exam structure is patterned such a way like afternoon and morning sessions that the students are also comfortable with it.

I got into this college through entrance exam and a personal interview. The exam consist of normal curriculum of 12th subjects like Mathematics, Physics ,chemistry and mainly english. In the personal interview they will check your performance in 12th

The faculty behavior towards the students are decent and it is somewhat strict also. Ofcourse the faculty must be strict then only the students will learn. As i am from mechanical department the staffs of our department are good and helpfull.
