Sd Chandigarh, best college for Tricity and Himachal Students.

The college is quite prestigious institution of Chandigarh and is a must go if the student desires to get educated in Chandigarh. It has best facilities of high speed IT wi-fi campus, newly made buildings and nice location. The fun in the college is as much as the studies.

The course is the basic Commerce course. The syllabus is synonymous to DU syllabus. Considering the Tricity and Himachal areas, the extra curricular activities in SD is the main attraction for admission here.

There comes some companies like EY-Gds and KPMG for GDS department. Other than that some local companies attend placement drive. But overall, there are not much companies in the placement programs of the institute.

Enctus- A premier outreach and program to develop entrepreneurs talent in India. Rotary Club- The club focus on social activities and societal programs. Cultural Fests of various departments like BCom department/ BBA / BA department.

The fee structure is feasible ranging in about 2 lacs for entire B.Com program. There are not any hidden charges charged by college other than the semester wise fees charged by the college. Ofcourse the exam fee is additional to be paid.

There are bank availed loans available, but no such activity participated scholarship program exists, as per my knowledge.

In the B.Com course, there is no requirement of any lab as such. The college has a activity managed sports committee and a whole lot of national level sports students, they infact have a reservation program for admission of students from sports background. The boys hostel is fine with relatively new building. There is a fix time to return by 9 in the night in hostels or the gates will be closed. Facilities include air-conditioned TV room, AC study room, AC mess.

The seniors are generally very helpful with non- existence of ragging in the campus. Seniors from every department are willing enough to help in any circumstances. The alumni is as such not an active community.

There is a cut off for admission to B.com decided by colleges under Panjab University. If you achieve requisite marks, you may be admitted. Also, there is a different cut-off for Chandigarh based students and those outside Chandigarh.

The faculty is quite satisfactory considering review from friends of their colleges. But teachers do take extra effort if the student is serious. That being said, the primary burden of getting education will still be on student's shoulder.
