Remarks

When it comes to higher education we spend a lot of time crunching numbers and statistics. But all the students who are here at the SSNC, have the chance to go as far as their talentsand their work ethics and their dreams can take them.

Entrance Preview

The admission in swami shardhanand college for physics hons. was based on the merits of senior secondary examis in which I performed fairly well and scored 91% marks. The reasons behind opting for SSN are many. It is affiliated to the Delhi University and arguably has the best teaching staff for science department among all DU colleges, location wise nearest to my residence, Good transport connectivity, Pollution free environment, Good campus.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

During the three year of the course I good opportunity to study some great divisions of Physics like Mathematical physics, modern physics, mechanics, optics, thermal physics, optics, electromagnetic theory etc. The curriculum was well divided in different units so that each and every aspect of the subject is clear to the student.Coming to subject wise in OPTICS deal with the behaviour and various phenomenas associated with light light.Thermal physics deals with various heat related processes and cycles.

Internships Opportunities

The college internship experience was just amazing. Various reputed companies like Microsoft, tata motors, Google, Samsung, etc starts recruiting students from our college from the final year itself. Students don't have to run after jobs after their graduation here and there as the package on offer were also good.

Placement Experience

4.5

Placement and job opportunities are many for any DU student.About 80% students got recruited from campus itself. On an average the package offered was abt 7-8 lacs.Companies and their average packages:BHEL- 8 lacsNPCL - 7 LACSMICROSOFT-10 LACS

College Events

5

college events celebrated:1. Technical fest2 cultural fest3. Annual fest4. Of course fresher and fairwelk partiesThey are celebrated at a large scale investment and the students participate with great enthusiasm in various activities or events.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure was feasible as it was only about 15000 per year which is reasonable as compared to other DU colleges and much less than the engineering colleges. All funds like tuition fee, sports fund, examination fee, etc all comes in 15k only. Also there is loan facility at very law rates.

Fees and Financial Aid

Scholarships for bonafide students were always on offer to be availed under different conditions likeUnder sports quotaFor excellent academic records. For BPL students etc

Campus Life

4.5

Fairly comparable gender ratio.Parties for hostel students at diff festivals and other occasions.Frequent workshops for student encouragements.Zero tolerance on cases of abuses on the basis of gender, race, caste, religion, politics etc.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

Excellent hostel facilities. Clean n open rooms. Nice spacious mess.Cooperative wardens. Nutritious food.Generator facilities.

Alumni/Alumna

Senior students were supportive and helpful. they helped us by arranging notes and providing much essential information abt various aspects. Instead of any raaging or any other type of harassment they helped in creating a frank environment and hepled in bridging the gap between seniors and juniors. For hostlers it was like a home away from their homes.

Exam Structure

Exam wise there is a busy schedule. There are labs three days a week and 2 sessional tests, internal and external practicals and then finally the final semester exams. It was both hectic and chilled experience.

Faculty

5

As I mentioned above SSN arguably has the best science faculty among all the DU colleges. All the teachers are either PhD holders or they are pursuing the same. They have set pretty high standards for them as well as for the students too so that they can

Course Curriculum Overview:

Life science includes zoology botany and chemistry considering this combo I think the study material is quite okay in terms of topics chemistry connects school teaching with one step ahead learning . Zoology provides new insights on various topics . Botany covers deeper understanding of syllabus . So overall it's good . Hands on lab work meets the demand of the subject . Also the topics taught match with the type of questions asked in exam. Difficulty level i would say it's moderate for botany and zoology but for chemistry is quite tough. Time management is a much needed skill for examination purpose. For course curriculum i would say more focus on current situation should be laid rather than history .

I think that the course curriculum is good and well managed . The curriculum has all necessary subjects related to our course as well as all other necessary subjects like human values and basic ethics. I find our course curriculum is apt for our course . Thought their is a lag for more practical learning and skills. It will be better if they add more practical learning.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The syllabus of Electronics Hons and Electrical Engineering is same but makes it different is how we perceive it. We study the syllabus with theoretical aspects while the engineers with practical aspects. We have a chance to opt for the 4th year, which only comprises of Research. One of the optionals is Generic Elective and if you take GE from same department for all semesters, you will attain a minor degree. The Faculties and whole curriculum is great but the other optionals require improvement. The other optionals only make the Student Life hectic, that stumbles the Student's focus from Course track.
