Remarks

Overall look and environment of the college is very nice. Beware of the staff, some teachers are very good but top most people are very rude and lazy. They won't help you at all untill it gives them.any advantage. They will lure you in things and scare you for placement related things to get you in into extra courses but that will not help you in anything.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The course is good. The subjects are relevant and will provide much knowledge for your future job. The exam structure can be better. Its easy to get marks here which is good for the students who want to be in different field rather than what they are into( by force).

Placement Experience

4

Placement are good. They would get you placed for sure if you are BE student. Not very good placement for other branches. Stipend on an average is low. Some companies will give nice stipend but then, out of 1000 student you can also guess how many will get that nice stipend

College Events

4

College is eventfull. Many events happen on a regular basis. They provide you attendance too if you take part in event and miss class cause of it. So no worry of attendance. There are a lot of events for hostellers too.

Fee Structure And Facilities

One word - expensive. Very expensive. Their greed is increasing year by year and they are increasing the fees year by year. They dont even bother about that, you want to study, you have to pay. As simple as that.

Fees and Financial Aid

No scholarship offered by the college. As i told, they just want to get as much money from you as they can. Loan facility is also not there. You can get it from the banks but dont expect anything from the college.

Campus Life

4

Sports, activities are good. Lab are not that good. There is cricket ground. Basketball court. Football ground. lawn tennis ground. Badminton ground and many more. there is a gym facility too which is paid ofcourse.

Hostel Facilities

3

Yes I opted for hostel and can tell the mess food is as bad as it can be. Other than that everything is good. The infrastructure is good and warden and staff are helpful there. There is a very nice environment so feel free to opt in. Only issue (major one) food is not good

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni network is not that great. Although seniors are helpful. You will get all the details about everything you want to know. No ragging as such in the hostel by any senior so feel safe about that. Meeting an alumni is very difficult.

Admission

There is form that needs to be filled and posted to chitkara. No online process was there at my time. The form needs to be collected from some local shop. Has to be filled amd them posted to the college authority

Faculty

3

The faculty is very lazy. They dont bother about the student. Only time when they care about the student is the placement. Yeah just when they want each student to be placed they will talk nicely to you. Doesnt matter if you are placed in good company or not, they just want you be placed and once placed you are ghost to them. You would die just to get a proper response from the staff.

Placement Experience:

Since the first batch of VLSI is yet to be placed I would take example of ECE for reference. Out of 110 students which sat for placements , 91 got placed , median of 13 lakh with avergae of 16 lakh and 61 lakh highest on campus. These are of 24-25 and this year placements are better as even apple visited us after an hiatus of 3 years. In core electronics , Samsung Rnd , TATA electronics , Cadence , Micron etc visited for tech , UKG , PhonePay , Oracle , Accenture etc vist in consulting and finance , Mckinsey , JP Morgan , GoldmanSachs , AmericanExpress visit. After my btech I plan to do a job.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the course plan around 7 out of 10 in terms of relevance and depth. I chose this course mainly because it includes core tech subj like DSA, DBMS, OS, AI and cloud, which are useful for jobs in tech field. The presence of lab work and proj based learning also influenced my choice. The curriculum gives a fair base in theory and basic prac skills. It helps in campus place prep and also builds base for higher study like MTech or MS. But real world skill still depends a lot on self study, online course and side proj. Some topics feel updated, but a few subj are still too theory heavy and not linked to real case use. Exams are held twice as mid test and once as end term in each sem. There are also quiz, viva and lab eval. The level is moderate. If you attend class and revise notes, it is manageable. For improve, more live proj, hack event, ind visit and case study should be added. Teach method should shift more to code demo and less slide read
