Remarks

About studies, they are excellent. They are among top 10 engineering colleges all over Kerala. From the latest results in 2019 pass out they hold 9the rank among all the engineering college in Kerala.

Course Curriculum Overview

Civil engineering is a four year engineering degree course which includes both theoretical and practical studies. There are 8 semester exams and a number of series tests in between them. Also seminars, project, industrial visit, assignments etc are included in this course.

Placement Experience

No, They do not provide internships. They provide a wide range of placement options. Majority of the students got placement through campus placement. Infosys, TCS like multinational companies are recruiting students.

College Events

Union day- A day for announcing union members in front of college. Pratheep P Thevannoor innovation award- A technical competition for students all over india for finding out the excellent skilled students. Igniz- college day programme held once in 2 years. Vipanchika- Arts fest held once in 2 years.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Since I am a government merit student with a Fee waver scheme, the fee is affordable but apart that we have to pay 10000 rupees which they named as value added course fee for each semester is not that worth. Also the hostel and mess fees are expensive.

Fees and Financial Aid

AICTE fee waver scheme. Which is a scholarship given to 5 percentage of students in each branches according to their marks in plus two, Entrance score and income. The scholarship is about 50000 rupees per semester. They also provide loan facility for students.

Campus Life

They provide all the facilities for labs, sports and other educational activities. They conducting volleyball competitions, football competitions etc. As a part of IEEE they conduct an event for students all over india named Ascendio.

Hostel Facilities

6/10 The hostel room is very small which can’t afford 3 students. We are facing space problems in room so that we can’t concentrate on studies and other activities. The mess food is very oily but expensive.

External Expense: Rs.4000 - Rs.7000

Alumni/Alumna

I never seen anything done by senior students as an infrastructure in the college. But they do helps in the future of students by helping in higher studies, jobs, internships, placement etc. Senior students are helping in all the programs conducted by students.

Admission

I got the admission through engineering entrance exam, after the second allotment they sent an admission letter. They held an admission day where they interviewed me and checked my 10th and 12th certificates. After all that I payed the fees and confirmed my seat for civil engineering.

Faculty

The faculties are highly educated and has an immense knowledge in the subject which they are teaching. They encourage assignments, seminars, presentation etc for the student’s improvement. They are providing a good climate for students.

Life at CET

Placement Experience:

The placement cell of the college is very active. You can get internships starting 2nd year and placements starting 3rd year. About 75% of people get placed. Many MNCs like Texas Instruments are consistent hirers. The highest package of 2025 for my course is 1 crpa. The average is about 7 lpa. A student can get 5,6 offers. I plan on higher studies abroad because I want to learn more in-depth about the course.

Students are eligible for placement from the 7th semester and internship from 3rd semester. You can apply for internship on your own right from first semester but college gives aid from 3rd semester. The major recruiter is ISRO which offers 40-45 jobs for aerospace engineering. Also other companies like CDac Airbus Boeing and DRDO and HAL visit for recruitment. Nearly 85-90% students get placed while some opt for Higher education and research too. My primary goal is to get into ISRO also I will be preparing for gate examination to complete my IIT dream.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I was never interested in engineering. I passed KEAM entrance exam. So my parents forced me to become an engineer. Since I was interested, I thought food technology might be a good branch in engineering. So I got admission in KUFOS through allotment. The course is actually good . In the 1st year, you study basic engineering, 2nd year onwards food related courses are taught. If you are a student who only have the intention to study you will find this college easy to adjust. They provide all facilities to study. There is no particular frequency for a semester. Even though academic calender is there for each batch it is not followed properly. In this college the course may last upto 4.5 years. Due to this reason the students ask the management to cut shot semester breaks so that they won't loose 1 year.

I only have postive thoughts about that campus. The campus helped me to remove my pre-occupations, inhibitions, fear etc. It gave a lot of memorable moments, large number of friends. The most special thing about the college is those memorable friendships with the faculties whos understand students very well.

The other colleges i applied was all govt colleges.i couldn't got the rank to get there because i got less rank in keam exams.so i choose the best college i could get on my marks. I got 25526 rank in keam examination such that i cracked in here and also i wanted to be here because my super seniors where here they also insisted me that scms school of engineering is a good college.our college is a managemental college accredited by govt either we should crack keam exam or we should jee exam or we be nri quota. SSET- from the viewpoint of a student

I applied to government colleges and MITS ,RIST and FISAT too among with SSET. But I got confirmation letter from SSET in my first allotment itself. I choose SSET because it has a great infrastructure and wide possibility of opportunities. One of my relative was an alumni of this college and I got to know about the college from her perspective. The response I got from others whenever I asked about my college was really positive and hence I chose SSET. I never got rejection from other colleges I applied to, I simply chose to settle in the first college I got allotted after my KEAM Rank list got published. I chose SSET over other colleges because other colleges were really expensive and I never wanted to push my family to go through such a hard time just for my education. Even though I got admitted to a really great college with a high quality course the fees there in one sem was twice the amount I had to pay in SSET for a year The admission process of my college was quite simple.All we had to do was submit my certificates and sign a few papers. It Lasted only one and half hours. The eligibility to get here included passing the KEAM Exam and having 50% or more pass mark in plus two. The student must have studied Science subject with either Biology or Computer Science as the main Subject. My overall admission experience was really great.
