Remarks

My college provides an environment that is best for overall personality development. one negative thing I noticed that despite strict rules students indulged in smoking and drinking to great extent. After caught in such activities they were released without any strict action by posing a fine of 2000 to 10000 on them.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

From courses to curriculum everything is prescribed by university itself and colleges under the university just follows the same. In my opinion the attendance criteria should be more flexible and more emphasis should be given on practical aspect of learning rather maintaining attendance and assignments and only theoretical part of curriculum.

Placement Experience

2.5

College provides internships but they charge for it, And for placement aspect mainly marketing companies came for the placements as it becomes common for all branches, i.e BCA, BBA, MBA, B.tech across all branches. Very few technical companies came, like LGsoft, grazitti Interactive, Hanu Softwares etc.

College Events

5

Sanskriti the annual cultural fest and Utkrisht the annual technical fest are major event of the college, despite these many other events are organized by college every year like Kavya Sandhya the Kavi Sammellan Night, Dehradun Film Festival in which many prominent faces from bollywood industry came and share their the knowledge. Many seminars and Hackathon, Ideathon were also organized throughout the year. Many festivals were also celebrated like Dussehra, Janmashtami, Saraswati Puja, Holi etc.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Approx 2 lakhs per year with hostel, mess and laundry without AC, double sharing room. 2.5 lakh per year in AC room double sharing, 3 lakh per year single AC room only for M.tech/MBA students. In my opinion it's feasible considering all the amenities we are provided including emergency medical facility.

Fees and Financial Aid

Scholarships are provided only to meritorious students who are financially weak, in terms of not able to pay tuition fee etc. All other kinds of scholarship that is given by state government or central government is followed as usual and passed/approved for each student after required verification of eligibility.

Campus Life

5

Sports is central part of our college there are more than 18 sports in total including indoor and outdoor games such as Cricket, Football, Basketball, Volleyball, Badminton,Tennis, chess, table tennis, carrom board etc.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

8 out of 10 for infrastructure 10/10 for electricity 9/10 for drinking water as there are limited no of water coolers so we have to wait in queue for filling up our water bottles in summer. 10/10 for washrooms and their cleanliness, 7/10 for mess although food is cooked properly, healthy and hygiene is maintained but taste of food is below average mostly on Tuesday and Friday.

Alumni/Alumna

Seniors are very helpful as long as you maintain a cohesive relationship with them. Most of the activities we learned from the seniors as they are experienced they give suggestions to avoid mistakes. There is annual Alumni meet, a kind of fest itself in which all the students got a chance to meet with their seniors and pass outs who were successful somewhere,so we can connect in future.

Admission

I gave JEE Mains, on basis of scores i.e 65 out of 360, I applied for UTU counselling. After 1st round of counselling completed, I was offered some other college that I don't like, so I waited for 2nd round, then I got Tula's in the second round.

Faculty

3

Most of the faculty, say 85% are freshers just passed out from M.tech or MBA from some college or from the same college and started teaching for the very first time in their teaching career. Although every teacher tries his/her best to impart the best of possible knowledge they can, what an experienced teacher can teach obviously can't be achieved by fresher.

Godrej, Infosys and likewise tech and non-technical companies which have decided to have some AI engineers in their ranks are coming to our college. Also since our college don't have such big strength like the private universities have and therefore placements final figures may be small but in all, our percentage of placements are better and higher than those of the private universities.

In GEU, placements are good and this was the main reason I took admission here. Companies visits here from Hyderabad offices and even Pune offices who doesn't just gives us jobs but intenrships opportunities too. Around 20% of the students even get PPO as our college teaching and training is such that getting job here is a cakewalk.

Oracle, Microsoft, DeShaw and almost every company which needs IT services have looked upon GEU because we are trained that way. This is the reason our median has gone up and this year was a breakout year for placements for GEU as over 15-20 students were hired for packages of over 40 LPA.
