Remarks
The college is overall good. Mechanical sandwich, polymer, petrochemical, and petroleum branches are one of the best based on academics and placement. For computers and IT, I would recommend if you get into COEP or PICT, then go for them. If not for those two colleges, then definitely MIT will be a good choice.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is quite good and practical and project-oriented. There are 8 semesters in total over a span of 4 years. The exams are evenly spread across all those semesters so that students have to face exams every 1.5 months.
Placement Experience
There are ample placement opportunities. Just a piece of advice that do not be greedy for the high package, and try for every company. MIT offers internships for third-year and final-year students. The final year students are given an opportunity for an international internship.
College Events
MIT supports cultural, sports, and technical events to a great extent. I myself was the head of publicity of our technical event. Such events develop your communication skills, marketing skills, and managerial skills. Also participating in such competitions let you know where you stand in the crowd.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure is slightly expensive but feasible. It's like an investment wherein if the student studies well, he/ she does get a good job or admission into some good college for higher studies. Also, the college provides certain scholarships for certain students. Also, the fees can be paid in installments.
Fees and Financial Aid
In terms of scholarships, the college offers a varied range of fee waivers such as 25%, 50%, and 75%. This depends on the student's score in the entrance exams and on his financial situation. Student loans are widely available with different banks but none is offered by the college side.
Campus Life
The college took active participation in extracurricular activities by means of various events and competitions throughout the year. The quality of labs is definitely superior to that offered by other institutions in the city. The equipment is also well-maintained. The college has its own basketball and tennis courts, cricket ground, and swimming pool (on another campus).
Alumni/Alumna
The Alumni network is not that good. But students tend to bond closely with a number of seniors by means of the various events and activities conducted by the college. Also, teachers are in constant touch with the alumni on a personal level so that they can contact them if and when needed.
Admission
I appeared for the JEE Mains exam and based on that, the admission process for engineering colleges started in Maharashtra. Based on my JEE score and HSC percentage (physics, chemistry, maths), I was allotted this college.
Faculty
The faculty is very good, supportive, and informative. Their presentations during lectures are very useful and informative. They come in handy during exams. Also while the mini projects and final year projects are being developed, the teachers actively participate and try to provide as many resources as possible from the college end.
