Remarks

Positives: 1) we don't have a campus, this gives us liberty 2) we have no pressure regarding attendance 3) boys hostel has amazing food 4) no hostel timings in general 5) amazing exposure to clinical as we are associated with a government hospital 5) it's relatively less distractive when compared to metropolitan cities. Negatives: 1) we have no campus, nothing to show off 2) no attendance(not my perspective though) 3) girls have hostel curfew 4) they don't have good food 5) there's no stipend

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The course is amazing! You find all kinds of geeks for one. In my college, we also get to suture in UG. We have postings, we go on trips and it's not a very hectic curriculum as exaggerated by the society. I think it's time we change the perspective of the people.

Placement Experience

5

Our college provides intership. This question is pretty irrelevant when it comes to my course. Our studies don't end at graduation and job opportunities are pretty much endless for a post graduate. Stipend was provided for intership which is not available now.

College Events

2

This is the only thing my college sucks at. We got small festivals like ganesh, holi, diwali and an intra college fest every one and a half year. But none the less, JJM rules everywhere else. There is nothing beyond this to explain about the events. Not much in sports either. I think you have to remove this criteria of 200 char for at least a few of these questions

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee is pretty high, but it's legal. I'm not sure if everyone can afford a comedk or a management seat. The govt seat fee itself is more than a lakh for the upcoming batch. God help us with this home in fee.

Fees and Financial Aid

I'm honest, I'm not eligible for any scholarship, so didn't bother looking for it. But the government of karnataka provides a lot of schemes for dalits and OBCs. Then again, I'm not eligible for any, but I've got friends who get scholarship upto 50k

Campus Life

2.5

This is the only thing my college sucks at. We got small festivals like ganesh, holi, diwali and an intra college fest every one and a half year. But none the less, JJM rules everywhere else. There is nothing beyond this to explain about the events. Not much in sports either. I think you have to remove this criteria of 200 char for at least a few of these questions. I didn't want to retype this. The labs are pretty good though. Those facilities haven't been compromised so far.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

The hostelthat I'm in is pretty awesome, but it costs about 80k. The normal hostel is about 50k but it's okay-ish. Not a lot of expectations to be honest. But the food is amazing!!! Then again, your 200 characters. Nothing else to say about the hostels. The only thing I missed out is probably Indian toilets in the normal hostel.

Alumni/Alumna

I haven't met any alumni personally and I don't really know if a network exists. But I've seen profs and docs in other colleges as well as in private practice who have graduated fromJJM. The only missing link is, the fun we have here and the success they have outside is something I'm not able to connect. But I'm sure even we'll get through it.

Admission

I wrote my NEET UG examination, came through K-CET counselling and got the seat in the second round for 77,000. It was necessary that we key in our options online and there were different admission dates for each round. We had the choice to alter our option entry as well. We had a week's time to pay up our fee and finish up the admission process. We were also given an anti ragging affidavit and an agreement to work in rural areas

Faculty

4

The faculty, as always, is always a mixed notion. A handful of good profs, few who don't know how to teach and few others who don't give a fuck about what you're even doing in life. Atleast first year had some schooling, but in 2nd tear the profs don't even know of many student's existence.

Course Curriculum Overview:

curriculum is designed to be highly relevant and comprehensive for modern medical practice.Early Clinical Exposure is One of the strongest aspects of the curriculum is introducing students to patients in their very second year. The final year of the curriculum—the Compulsory Rotatory Residential Internship (CRRI) is effective it prepares students for the high-pressure environment of Indian healthcare, making them very capable of handling emergencies and outpatient departments (OPD ). Students feel that lectures are still too focused on passive PowerPoint presentations.Rigorous schedule, integrating "Life Skills" or "Stress Management" modules more formally into the foundation course would be helpful. The university exams (RGUHS) are generally fair but require a very high level of descriptive writing and practical precision.
