How do the placements really compare between LPU B.Tech Mechanical Engineering and Parul University B.Tech (Computer Science Engineering)?

From my research, LPU B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering seems to offer a more vibrant campus life with extensive facilities and a strong emphasis on discipline, making it a great choice for those who value a structured environment. However, the placement opportunities for mechanical branches are not as frequent compared to the more tech-driven fields like Computer Science Engineering at Parul University, which generally attracts more recruiters. While Parul might have a less impressive campus experience, it compensates with a curriculum that’s more aligned with current tech trends and potentially better placement prospects for CSE students. Personally, I would lean towards Parul University if you’re aiming for a career in tech, but if you prefer a rich campus life and can handle the mechanical job market, LPU could be the better fit for you.

After researching both LPU B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering and Parul University B.Tech in Computer Science Engineering, it’s clear that placements are significantly better at Parul University. While LPU has a decent curriculum and a sprawling campus, the placement drives for Mechanical Engineering are not frequent, which limits job opportunities and packages, especially compared to the thriving tech industry that Parul's CSE students tap into. Parul offers more relevant internships and has a stronger focus on job placements in the growing IT sector.

If you’re inclined towards tech and have a keen interest in computer science, Parul University is the better choice for solid job prospects; however, if you are passionate about mechanical engineering and can navigate a less frequent placement landscape, LPU could still work out with the right approach.

I’ve heard a lot of negative things, but the truth is, “Many students are getting placed in great companies and receiving excellent placement offers!” There are various factors at play. If there are 200 students, it’s unrealistic to expect all 200 to land the best packages. Am I wrong? No, right? The top performers always secure the higher positions.

Many companies visit the university for campus placements. In fact, I receive around 7 to 8 emails daily about companies looking to recruit students. The better your skills, the more likely you are to stand out. Companies are keen on candidates who showcase the best skills.

So, work on your skills, guys! That will truly help you land a great job with a bright future. I’ve also taken extra certificate courses, and honestly, these skills matter a lot!

Anyway, here’s my take - I completed my B.Tech from Parul University in 2019, and I’ve been unemployed since then. It’s not because there were no placements or I wasn’t capable; it’s just that my branch was Electrical Engineering, and most companies that visited were for the IT sector, which I wasn’t interested in. I wanted a job in a core company. Plus, the packages offered were more than what I spent monthly (college fees + personal expenses), which doesn’t make sense.

So, I think that’s enough for you to decide for yourself.

Edit - For students from tier 3 colleges, there’s serious competition in the market for good jobs. Upscale yourself and work on your skills. Moving abroad is also a good option!
