I’m currently in my second year of B.Tech Software Engineering at DTU, and honestly, I think it’s totally worth it. The curriculum is super updated, especially with the NEP being applied, so we’re learning stuff that’s really relevant in today’s tech world.

Placement records are good, and while it does depend on personal skills, I’ve seen friends with decent coding abilities land internships and jobs at top companies like Google and Apple. You do need to maintain a CGPA of 7.5+ for internships, but if you’re dedicated, it’s manageable.

Plus, the campus life is vibrant with loads of fests and societies to join, which helps in networking.

As a student at DTU pursuing B.Tech in Software Engineering, I’d say it’s a solid choice. The college has a good placement track record, especially if you have strong coding skills. Most companies come for placements and internships, and those with 9+ GPAs usually get the best opportunities. The fees are on the higher side, around 2.19 lakhs, but there are scholarships available for those in need, which makes it more accessible. I’ve enjoyed my time here, and the campus life is great with frequent fests and events that allow you to meet new people and build connections.

I'm in my final year of B.Tech Software Engineering at DTU, and I can confidently say it’s been a great experience. The curriculum is quite comprehensive, and we have the flexibility to choose electives that interest us, which is a big plus. On the placement front, while the recession has made things tricky, having good skills can still land you a decent job. Many companies visit for internships starting from the first year, which is awesome. The fees are a bit steep, but scholarships are available, so it’s manageable. Overall, I’d recommend DTU for its education quality and vibrant campus life!

This answer is in the Indian context:

Having researched the Indian engineering education system for over 10 years, I can provide an accurate response to this question.

Answer:

There is NO definitive answer to the first question because ALL colleges tend to exaggerate their placement statistics.

Some companies that conduct campus placements at non-top-20 Indian B.Tech colleges are less reputable.

DTU is a tier-1 Indian engineering college.

YES, it is worth it! Such government engineering colleges are excellent for any kind of education.

These colleges do not impose rules that hinder students from achieving success in their careers, unlike many private engineering colleges in India.
