I chose to study B.Tech in Industrial & Production Engineering at DTU because of my interest in mechanics, and it’s been a great decision. The curriculum covers essential topics like manufacturing processes and supply chain management, which are aligned with industry needs. The faculty is really supportive, and we have access to good resources like a well-stocked library.

When it comes to placements, DTU is pretty strong; top companies visit our campus, and the average salary hovers around 12 lakhs. Even though the fee structure is a bit high, the opportunities here make it worth it. If you’re passionate about this field, DTU is a solid choice.

The branch doesn't really matter for placements in IT companies. Many students from DTU and other colleges who are from non-CS branches have successfully landed jobs in IT. The key factor is your skills. If you develop your skills during your college years, you can approach the placement coordinator and express your interest in interviewing for positions based on those skills.

It's worth noting that many successful professionals in tech come from diverse backgrounds. For example, the heads of Coding Blocks are all from DTU, with only one from IT; the others are from EEE and Mechanical. Personally, I have a keen interest in IT and have been actively working to enhance my skills, even while studying in the (often considered tough) EEE branch.

Placement-wise, companies like Google and Microsoft come to recruit, and the highest package has gone up to 1.8 crore! I think around 70-75% of students get placed each year, though the current job market is a bit tricky. The campus life is vibrant, especially with events like Engifest. Overall, I believe it’s definitely worth it!
