Is it worth doing a B.Tech Electronics & Communication Engineering from DTU or not? What are its placement records and whats your experience with this college so far?

I chose DTU for my B.Tech in Electronics & Communication Engineering mainly because of its reputation and placement stats. The companies that come for placements are top-notch, and in 2023, they had 1,635 job offers! The average package was around INR 25.22 LPA, which is quite good for freshers. The college also has a vibrant campus culture with various clubs and festivals. I’ve found the hostel facilities decent, though the food could be better. Overall, I think pursuing ECE at DTU is definitely a wise move if you’re aiming for a good career.

Doing a B.Tech in Electronics & Communication Engineering from DTU has been a great decision for me. The college is located in Delhi, which is a major plus, and the placement records are impressive. The campus life is vibrant with a ton of clubs and fests, so there’s always something happening. If you're looking for good placement opportunities, DTU is definitely worth it!

The placement at DTU for IT is excellent!

• The highest package for IT is 1.25 crore.
• Various companies come for placements at DTU, with the maximum number of students placed coming from CO and IT branches, although students from SE and MCE also get placed.
• Companies like Samsung, Uber, Adobe, Amazon, Epic, Google, Goldman Sachs, and Microsoft hire CO and IT students.
• Almost all students from the IT branch secure jobs with packages above 10 lakh per annum.

The placement for CE is also good, with students getting placed above 10 lakh for mechanical jobs.

• Various companies recruit CE students domestically.
• The maximum package offered to students was 18 lakh in 2016.
• Government companies like the Indian Navy, BHEL, SAIL, and the Indian Air Force also hire CE students.

The placement for ECE is decent, with companies like Samsung and Adobe hiring ECE students as well.

• However, the cutoff is higher compared to core CO, IT, and SE branch students since ECE has more electrical subjects than computer-oriented subjects.
• The maximum placement for ECE is 18 lakh per annum.

As for Google, it is open for all, so anyone can apply for Google off-campus as long as you have a degree!

The placement scenario at DTU is excellent, especially for branches like IT and Software Engineering. Almost all major tech companies, such as AMAZON, FLIPKART, and ZOMATO, actively recruit from DTU. For Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE), core companies like TEXAS INSTRUMENTS, SANDISK, FREESCALE, QUALCOMM, and AIRTEL also hire.

In addition to these, a significant number of non-tech companies like DELOITTE and BCG come for recruitment. International firms like TEXEG, WORKS Applications, and DAIKIN have also started visiting. Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs) have ramped up their recruitment efforts this year, and many startups are eager to hire as well.

In short, there are plenty of companies looking to hire, and most students get placed through DTU. If placement is a priority, the scenario here is fantastic!
