I chose B.Tech Civil Engineering at DTU because I wanted to engage in fieldwork rather than just being stuck behind a desk. The curriculum is helpful and relevant, though it does lean heavily on theory. When it comes to internships, there are good options like PWD and NHAI alongside major companies like Amazon. I learned that last year, around 30 companies visited for internships, and stipends were roughly 10k.
As for placements in 2026, I’m optimistic since many companies come to hire. In our previous placements, 25 companies offered positions, with the highest package being 90,000. Overall, DTU is a great place for anyone looking to build a career in civil engineering!
Being in the Civil Engineering branch at DTU has been quite an experience. The course is excellent for those who want to work in construction and related fields. While there is a lot of theory, the professors are supportive and help us with notes and exam preparation. I’ve heard from seniors that in 2025/26, the placement scene is looking good. Last year, there were about 120 companies that came for placements, and though the numbers for civil engineering are a bit lower, the offers were decent. The highest salary was around 90,000, with the lowest being 35,000, which isn't too bad. The campus life is vibrant too, with events like Engifest and Invictus, making the whole experience enjoyable.
I’m currently pursuing B.Tech in Civil Engineering at DTU, and I can say that it's a solid choice, especially if you’re interested in the construction sector. The curriculum is designed to prepare us for real-world applications, although there is quite a bit of theory involved.
We have great faculty who provide us with necessary notes and guidance during exams. For internships, companies like L&T and Reliance come to campus, which is awesome. In 2025/26, I’ve heard that placement opportunities are promising, with around 25 companies visiting last year and offering 89 seats specifically for civil engineering, which is quite good considering our class size of 140. The highest package reported was 90,000 per month, which is motivating for all of us!
