At DTU, we get the CPI (Cumulative Performance Index) for our BA course. It’s a bit different from aggregate marks, which I found interesting. The CPI reflects our overall performance throughout the semesters, and it’s calculated based on our grades in all subjects. I’m currently in my second year, and the grading system helps me understand where I stand compared to my peers.
Just to clarify, in the BA program at DTU, we get our performance evaluated in terms of CPI, not just aggregate marks. This means that all our grades from different subjects contribute to a single index that represents our overall performance. I’m enjoying the course and the way we’re graded reflects our continuous effort throughout the semesters!
So, I'm in the BA program at DTU, and I can confirm that we receive CPI at the end of our semesters. It’s a cumulative index that takes into account all our papers. I really appreciate this system because it gives a clearer picture of my performance over time rather than just one final mark. It’s definitely helpful, especially since I’m planning to pursue an MBA later.
The formula provided by the admin department is - (%age of marks)/10 + 0.75 This calculates your GPA. Note: It's based on the percentage of marks, not your CPI.
For %age - (Total number of marks/1000) * 100
Currently, the GPA calculation method is not relative. It would be great to see a better system introduced for GPA calculation in the near future!
