The formula for CGPA conversion has recently changed! The new formula is:
Marks in Percentage = CGPA * 10
This formula applies to all BTech students enrolled from 2015–16 onwards and to all other programmes from 2017–18 onwards.
DTU announces results in terms of SPI (for each semester) and CPI (for the overall result). SPI/CPI are weighted percentages based on credits earned.
However, SPI/CPI can be converted as follows:
CGPA/SGPA = {((SPI/CPI)/10) + 0.75}
THIS IS APPLICABLE FOR BATCHES GRADUATING BEFORE 2019. FROM 2019 ONWARDS, DTU WILL DECLARE RESULTS IN TERMS OF CGPA ONLY.
To apply for a CGPA report:
IT USUALLY TAKES 4 TO 5 WORKING DAYS.
GPA at DTU is calculated based on your performance in midterm and end-term exams, which are part of our semester system. I’m in the Economics course, and I noticed that the grading can be a bit challenging, especially when compared to other courses like BBA. Each subject has a weightage, and your scores contribute to your overall GPA. With around 2000 students in our east campus, it can get competitive, so I’d suggest staying on top of your studies right from the start of the semester to keep your GPA up.
At DTU, the GPA calculation is pretty straightforward. We have a semester system where each semester lasts around 4-5 months. There are midterm exams after about 2 months, followed by end-term exams 50 days later. Each subject is graded based on these exams, and your overall performance contributes to your GPA. I’m in the Economics course, and I find the grading a bit tough compared to other branches like BBA. It’s crucial to keep track of your performance throughout the semester, as it can really impact your GPA.
Calculating GPA at DTU is done using a standard approach. We have midterms and end-term exams, and those scores are combined to give us a final grade for each subject. Since I’m part of the economics program, the questions can be a bit moderate, but they require a solid understanding. Your overall GPA is based on the credits of each subject too, so if you want to maintain a good GPA, it's important to focus on each paper throughout the semester. Overall, it’s quite manageable with some consistent effort.
