I joined the BA program at DTU mainly because it’s one of the reputed colleges in Delhi, and I wanted to dive deeper into economics and history. The teachers are mostly experienced, especially the guest faculty. When it comes to placements, it’s a mixed bag. Companies like PROBO and Mckinley Rise are offering internships, but the placement replies can be a bit delayed, especially from big companies. The highest package was 13 LPA, which sounds impressive, but the average is around 5 LPA, so keep that in mind. Overall, I think this course sets a good foundation if you’re looking to pursue an MBA later.

You can find advantages of DTU everywhere. Let's focus on its disadvantages.

  • DTU is increasing its intake every year, which makes it tough for students to secure placements, as the number of companies visiting the campus remains constant or more or less the same.
  • 85% of seats are reserved for Delhi candidates only.

Studying BA at DTU has been a great experience for me. The campus is lively, with around 2000 students, and the faculty is quite knowledgeable. I’ve found the exam pattern a bit challenging, especially in Economics, but it keeps us on our toes! For internships, there are a lot of startups offering roles in marketing, finance, and data analysis. I’ve seen some big names like Bajaj and Byjus coming for placements. The placement percentages are around 20-25%, which is decent. I’m hoping to join a good business school after this, but I wish the fees were lower!

DTU is particularly well-known for its science courses, and the options for commerce subjects are limited. The placement opportunities for the commerce stream at DTU are not widely discussed. Economics is a strong and scoring subject. If you have the chance to get into SRCC, definitely go for it! SRCC is fully dedicated to the commerce stream, and their placements are excellent. If SRCC isn't an option, then DTU is a good choice. Ultimately, focus on studying economics and give your best effort, regardless of the college or university you attend.

I’m currently pursuing a BA at DTU and I’m really enjoying it! I chose this course because I’ve always been passionate about economics and history. The curriculum is solid, and we have a good mix of permanent and guest faculty. The guest lecturers are mostly from JNU and have a lot of experience. As for placements, companies like Byjus and Amazon visit, but I’ve heard that getting responses can be slow. The highest package so far is 13 LPA, but the average is around 5 LPA. Honestly, I think the focus here is more on preparing for higher studies, like an MBA, which is my plan too!
