Who in your opinion is the worst teacher at DTU?

Professor Sudarshan Kumar Valluru is quite a character. He tends to shout a lot. I can't comment on his knowledge—maybe he has a solid grasp of his subject—but he struggles with delivering it effectively to students. His evaluation of answer sheets is also questionable. He repeats the same paper every semester and seems to mark based on his mood (and perhaps how much he favors a particular student).

His personality comes off as sadistic, and teachers like him tarnish the respect that educators should command. I've encountered strict teachers before, but he seems to be driven by a bloated ego and anger. It's baffling!

Honestly, I think the worst teacher at DTU has to be one of the guest faculty members in our Economics course. While most of the guest professors are pretty solid, there's this one who just doesn’t vibe with the students at all. The lectures feel like a drag, and he often goes off on irrelevant tangents. It’s like he’s talking to a wall. I get that he has experience, but it just makes the subject harder to grasp. I'm hoping the next semester will be better because right now, I’m struggling to stay awake in class!

I have to say, one of the worst teachers at DTU is in our guest faculty lineup for the Economics course. While most teachers are good, this one just doesn’t connect with students. The lectures are monotonous, and I’ve heard my classmates complain about the way he explains concepts. It can be frustrating, especially since I want to do well in the subject. I know some people have struggled more with Economics compared to BBA, and I think this teacher's style doesn’t help at all. We really need someone who can make the subject come alive!

Worst teacher ECE dept.: Devanand. Totally bad in whatever he teaches. Whether digital, analog, VLSI, anything! If you get this teacher, please attend someone else’s class. He doesn’t come to teach, so it’s baffling how he draws a salary while failing to do his primary job.

It’s saddening that he can’t teach. He’s never prepared for lectures. It’s mostly on-the-spot performance; sometimes he just brings photocopies of the textbook and copies the text on the board without any explanations. His concepts are all over the place, and on top of that, he’s arrogant and stubborn. He’s rude and speaks curtly to students. His demeanor and behavior towards students are absolutely reproachable.

His marking scheme is very simple and unfair:

• Give average marks to the whole class.
• Don’t read answers; just look at the length.
• If the answer is long enough, it gets marks. Content? Doesn’t matter to him.

Over time, you realize he’s not responsible for anything related to the course he’s supposed to teach. He gives the syllabus but doesn’t engage with it at all.

I graduated from this college, and I can confidently say that the academics here are a joke. You’re on your own, and no one will help you in any way. If you’ve made the mistake of coming here, start working hard from Day 1 by yourself, and you’ll be fine. You can land a 14 LPA job easily with some effort, but don’t expect to gain any real knowledge from the college or professors.

As for the professors, I was in COE, and the entire faculty seems focused on ruining your career to satisfy their egos. They are so arrogant that they’ve forgotten that this college’s reputation is built on the stellar placements achieved by students. They contribute nothing to your four years of B Tech except making your life as miserable as possible.

I won’t name any faculty members, but there’s one professor whose name is an anagram of “Vidya.” Stay away from this person. I’m not sure she should even be called a human; “demon” might be more fitting. This woman tops them all, and if by any chance she becomes your professor in any semester, just pray to pass without trouble. She is the worst thing on campus.

So in short, professors are terrible, studies are a mess, and you’ll have to fend for yourself!
