How is life at DTU main campus?

Things I love about Delhi Technological University -

1. The college gate: It's true! Every time I walk by our impressive main gate, a wave of pride hits me. The gate is magnificent and always gives a great vibe when we return to campus after breaks.

2. No Pressure: This is the best part of the college experience. Neither classes nor the syllabus are overwhelming. For Mechanical Engineering, especially in the first year with common subjects, the syllabus is quite relaxed and doesn’t demand excessive time to cover. You can study for just a couple of days before exams and still achieve decent marks.

So, does this mean we’re becoming lazy and losing the hard-working spirit we developed in high school? Absolutely not! Those aiming for "great" marks still need to put in the effort. Scoring 65-70% is manageable, but reaching that coveted 80% is a different ball game.

This relaxed environment gives us plenty of time to pursue our interests. You can spend your days coding, join a cultural team, tap into your true potential, or even build a car or any kind of machine!

I’m from Mechanical Engineering at DTU. It’s truly a privilege to study at Delhi Technological University. Very few get to experience this!

Life here is a blast. You can be whoever you want to be. From artists, musicians, singers, orators, dancers, writers, programmers, to athletes, you’ll find every talent here! Don’t underestimate DTU students by calling them ‘studious.’

The most famous spot on campus is the Open Air Theatre (OAT).

This is also the place where you can find all the peace you need in life, sitting with your girlfriend on a bench, lost in deep conversations. It’s a couple’s spot after all, especially at night! :P

If you’re at DTU, boredom is not an option. There’s always a fest around the corner. Entertainment is never in short supply!

Engifest is one of the most awaited events in Delhi!

And the concerts? Just amazing!

(Engifest is the only time you get to see more girls in college! Otherwise, the ratio can be quite skewed.)

Life at DTU is quite engaging! I’m in the Economics program, and it’s been a good fit for my interests. We have around 30 permanent faculty members and many guest professors who are well-qualified. The classes are well-equipped with AC and projectors, making the learning environment comfortable.

Engifest is a highlight of the year, where you get to see amazing artists and participate in various events. While the placements are okay, with an average package of about 5 LPA, I’m planning to pursue an MBA after my graduation in 2026.

Life at DTU's main campus has been quite an experience for me! I’m pursuing Economics, and I chose this college because it’s one of the best in Delhi. The faculty is a mix of permanent and guest professors, many of whom are JNU PhD scholars. The courses are interesting, but I found the exams a bit challenging! The semester lasts about 4-5 months, and midterms can be intense. Plus, there's a really vibrant campus life with events like Engifest happening every February, which is a blast!

Honestly, I love being at DTU’s campus. The environment is buzzing with around 2000 students from all branches. I’m in my second year studying Economics, and the exposure to experienced faculty has been beneficial. I’ve noticed that guest faculty are mostly senior professors with over 15 years of experience, which adds a lot of depth to our learning. The placement scene is decent too; companies like Byjus and Bajaj visit for internships and placements, though getting a job can be competitive.
