I’m currently studying at DTU, and honestly, campus life is a mixed bag. The East Campus has around 2000 students, and while the faculty is mostly qualified, with a bunch having over 15 years of experience, the courses can be challenging, especially economics. The midterms come up pretty fast, just two months into the semester.
There are good opportunities for internships, mostly with startups, but placement is a bit hit or miss. I’ve heard that about 20-25% of students get placed, with the highest package being around 13 LPA. Plus, the tech fest is an absolute blast, drawing crowds from all around Delhi!
Being at DTU has its perks and challenges. The campus is buzzing with around 2000 students, and I appreciate that the faculty, especially the guest professors, are quite knowledgeable. I chose economics because I’ve always been fascinated by it. The academic pressure is real, with midterms just two months in, but the resources are solid. We have access to a good library and study materials.
The highlight of the year is definitely Engifest, which brings a ton of excitement to campus life. The placement scene is okay, with companies like Byjus visiting, but I’m aiming for an MBA after graduation. Overall, it’s a decent experience!
I’m from Mechanical Engineering at DTU, and it's truly a privilege to study at Delhi Technological University. Very few get to experience this!
Delhi Technological University isn’t just a university; it’s a family, a feeling.
Let me take you on a journey across my college!
The concert was just amazing!
(Engifest is the only time when you get to see more girls in college! Otherwise, the ratio can be quite scrappy.)
Life at DTU is vibrant and full of colors! The campus is so beautiful that we often call it heaven. You’ll meet people from all over India, each with unique backgrounds. There are numerous technical and cultural societies to join, some of which are internationally recognized.
Mass bunks are quite common at DTU, but teachers are supportive if you show genuine interest in your studies. The academic schedule can be hectic during the first year, but it tends to balance out afterward. During fests, you’ll enjoy some of the best dance, music, and drama performances from various colleges.
In your regular college life, whenever you feel the urge to explore, you can wander around the campus. There’s a place called Horror Lane; I’ve been there but only encountered monkeys! :p You can also visit the lake on campus whenever you want a peaceful moment. If you stay in the hostel, long campus walks are a great option.
Don’t miss out on the famous “Maggi BaBa” who makes delicious Maggi—every DTUite knows him! For affordable food options, check out the mechanical canteen (Mech C) and the night canteen. For quick breaks, grab a frappe at Nescafe. You can also complete your practical files at OAT/Wind.
Life at DTU is pretty vibrant, especially if you’re interested in a mix of academics and extra-curricular activities. I’m pursuing economics here, and I love how engaged the faculty is. Most of our professors have impressive backgrounds, like JNU PhD scholars and experienced guest faculty. The campus is home to around 2000 students, which makes it lively. We have a big tech fest called Engifest every February, where artists and performers come to entertain us. The classrooms are well-equipped with AC and projectors, making the learning environment comfortable. It’s a great place to meet people and learn beyond just textbooks!
