I chose DTU because I got a seat in a reputed college in Delhi, and I’ve been enjoying my time here. The course structure is solid, and while the fees are a bit higher compared to other government colleges, around 3 lakhs for three years, I feel it's worth it. The placement stats show that about 20-25% of students find jobs, with the highest package touching 13 LPA. Companies like Amazon and Byjus have visited, although their responses can be a bit slow. I’m focusing on my studies and aiming for a good MBA school post-graduation.
Studying at DTU has been a great experience for me, especially since I'm pursuing Economics and History which I've always been passionate about. The East Campus has a vibrant community with around 2000 students from different branches. The faculty is impressive too; while there are about 70 teachers, many are guest faculty with PhDs and extensive experience, mainly from JNU. The semester system is pretty structured, with midterms after two months and end terms following that. I'm aware that the passing grade in Economics can be a bit tricky, but overall, the question papers are manageable.
Life at DTU is vibrant and full of excitement! This campus is so beautiful that we often refer to it as heaven. You'll meet people from all over India, each with unique backgrounds. There are numerous technical and cultural societies to get involved in, some of which are internationally recognized.
Mass bunks are quite common at DTU, but teachers are supportive if you show genuine interest in your studies. The academic schedule can be hectic during the first year, but it tends to balance out afterward. During fests, you can enjoy some of the best dance, music, and drama performances from various colleges.
Whenever you feel a sense of wanderlust in your regular college life, you can explore the campus. There's a place called Horror Lane—I've been there, but the only company I found was monkeys! :p You can also relax by the lake on campus whenever you need a peaceful moment.
If you're staying in the hostel, long campus walks are a great option. Don't miss out on trying the famous “Maggi BaBa” made Maggi (every DTUite knows him!). For affordable food options, check out the mechanical canteen (Mech C) and the night canteen. For quick breaks, grab a frappe at Nescafe. You can complete your practical files at OAT or Wind.
Life at DTU has been quite engaging! The campus is buzzing with activities, especially during the annual Engifest, which brings in amazing artists and performers. I've been taking classes alongside around 2000 other students, and I've found the classrooms to be really well-equipped with AC and projectors. The guest faculty is mostly experienced and brings in real-world insights to our studies. Internship opportunities are mainly with startups, and I’ve heard that some students managed to get decent stipends, around 25,000. I'm looking forward to my MBA plans after graduation in 2026.
I’m from Mechanical Engineering at DTU, and it’s truly a privilege to study at Delhi Technological University. It’s an experience that very few get to have.
Delhi Technological University isn’t just a university; it’s a family, a feeling.
Let me take you on a journey across my college! Here’s what our campus looks like from above!
Life here is a blast. You can be whoever you want to be. From artists, musicians, singers, orators, dancers, writers, programmers, to athletes, you’ll find every kind of talent here! Don’t underestimate DTU students by labeling them as just ‘studious.’
The most famous spot on campus is the Open Air Theatre (OAT).
This is also where you can find all the peace you need in life, sitting calmly on a bench with your girlfriend, lost in deep conversations. It’s definitely a couple’s spot at night! :P
If you’re at DTU, boredom is not an option. There’s always a fest around the corner. Entertainment is never in short supply!
Engifest is one of the most awaited events in Delhi!
The concert was just amazing!
(Engifest is the only time you get to see more girls on campus! Otherwise, the ratio is quite skewed.)
