The mess at DTU serves a pretty decent variety of food, which is a big plus for us students. You can expect a mix of North Indian staples like dal, rice, and roti, along with some South Indian options like dosa and idli. They also serve a range of snacks, like samosas and pakoras, especially during evening hours. It can get repetitive sometimes, but overall it's manageable. Plus, the mess is a great place to hang out and unwind after classes.
At DTU, the mess food is not too bad! You can find typical Indian meals, with a lot of rice and curries being served daily. Sometimes, they have special days with things like pav bhaji or other street food items which are a hit among students. The portion sizes are decent for the price, and even though it can get monotonous, it’s nice to see some effort in variety. If you’re in the East Campus like me, it’s a convenient spot to refuel during busy days!

As a South Indian, I find the food quite satisfying!
Hope this helps!
Being a student in the Economics course at DTU, I can say the mess food is quite satisfactory. They usually have a rotating menu that includes regular dishes like curries, vegetable sabzi, and biryani on certain days. Breakfast options like poha and upma are often available too. I appreciate that they try to offer some variety, but you might find some dishes a bit bland, depending on your taste. It’s definitely a space where you can grab a quick meal between classes.
At DTU, we have 9 boys' hostels and 3 girls' hostels. Each hostel has its own mess, but post-COVID, only 3–4 hostels are currently operational. We are required to take a monthly subscription for the mess, which costs 2700 p.m. This price is quite reasonable considering it includes 4 meals a day.
