It would be easier to answer if you mentioned the specific campuses of NIT and IIT. If you’re getting Metallurgy in IITs other than the old ones, go for NIT CSE. However, if you have Metallurgy in old IITs, you should definitely prefer IITs. The environment in old IITs will help you excel in life. In old IITs, the branch doesn’t matter. If you’re interested in coding, you can pursue it even if you’re from the Metallurgy department.
