Dr. M Pala Prasad Reddy is the Placement and Training Officer at the Institute of Aeronautical Engineering. He is responsible for facilitating communication between students and employers to secure placements. Prior to this position, he served as the Dean of the Technology Innovation and Incubation Centre at IARE. With over 12 years of experience in academics and research and development, he has published 10 research articles and supervised the completion of 15 undergraduate and 5 postgraduate student projects. His research expertise spans various areas, including control systems, unmanned aerial vehicles, power electronics, embedded systems, and the application of AI techniques in Electrical Engineering.

Ques. What motivated you to be in the education sector and how has your experience been?

Ans. The field of education offers a unique opportunity to directly influence the world we live in. I have chosen to pursue a career in education because it enables me to make a tangible difference by fostering a genuine love for learning among young students. I aim to inspire them to carry this passion throughout their lives. What makes the education field remarkable is that as we teach, we continue to learn and grow alongside our students.

Ques. What are your views on the changes that have been happening in the requirements of the companies?

Ans. The landscape of recruitment is undergoing constant transformation, with companies now seeking students who possess industry-ready skills. Rather than directly hiring fresh graduates into full-time positions, many companies are opting to offer internships initially and subsequently convert them into full-time employment based on performance.

Ques. What are the key factors that you think are the key to a successful placement?

Ans. To secure placement in companies offering higher packages, students should possess the following attributes including a strong academic foundation in their respective domains, excellent communication skills, proficiency in problem-solving and coding, experience in executing real-time projects, and completion of certifications in advanced technologies.

Additionally, we regularly organize hackathons to enhance their problem-solving abilities. Ans. Every student has the opportunity to improve their communication, technical, and coding skills through open platforms. Numerous industries provide internships to engineering students, involving them in real-time projects. To secure placements in companies offering higher salary packages, students should possess a strong skill set and strive to complete 3-4 industry-relevant projects during the course of study.
