Hyderabad Institute of Technology and Management (HITAM) is a private, autonomous college established in 2001 in Medchal, Telangana. It was formerly known as the Royal College of Engineering. It is affiliated with Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTUH) and approved by AICTE, New Delhi. Hitam has been accredited A+ by NAAC and NBA. According to the IIRF ranking, HITAM was ranked 59th out of 173 colleges in 2024. In 2025, HITAM was ranked 70th out of 175 colleges by The Times of India.

HITAM offers UG courses such as B.Tech, B.Tech (Lateral), and the Integrated Twinning Program. B.Tech is the flagship course. The total fee for the 4-year B.Tech program is INR 3.6 Lakh. Admission to the B.Tech program is based on entrance exams like TS EAMCET. Seats are allotted based on the scores in these exams through a counselling process, and students must meet the cutoff set by the college to be eligible for admission.

The Integrated Twining Program is a unique course where the students get to study both B.Tech and MS within five years. Under this program, students will have to study a 3-year B.Tech course in India and complete their final year, followed by one more year to get an MS at a partner university in the USA.

HITAM-A college of greenery and love

Likes

The college has excellent ambience and greenery which is the first thing i perosnally liked a lot and the infrastructure of the college is also very good.
This course has offered me career to focus on and it developed my soft skills.The college has library and other learning facilities available to the students at any time.
The faculty are highly experienced with doctorate degrees and they are friendly.The teachers good good mentorship to the students showing the right way.

Dislikes

Not all teachers are friendly,few teachers are very strict. Few teachers even though have sound knowledge they fail to explain it to students in an understandable way.
the college has not much good placments. Very few people have been recruited and the college havent brought more number of companies to recruit.
The college has brought companies who offer less packages.The infrastructure at some departments needs to be improved because they are not in good condition

The students are eligible for placements in the 3rd year. Comapanies like SSDC, WIPRO, EVOK, Broad ridge and the highest package offered was 16 lakhs per annum. The average package is 4lakhs per annum. Very few people have got placements since very companies have come forward to recruit students and few students didnt join beacuse they were offered less packages. I Intend to pursue MBA.

Internship opportunities provided by the college

The college offered very little internship oppurtunities but those internships are from reputed companies and instituitions. The interns were taken to various programmes where they can participate and the college has bared the fee for the travel expenses of the student.Few interns have recieved awards for thier projects demonstration at esteemed instituitions.

Events organized, clubs and facilities available in the campus

The college has annual day , traditional day, a 5 days event where each day has a characterstic theme , hackathon and many more . The library is available to students at any time and it has popular books and journals that students can read. The classrooms re digitalized and sports are there every week genrally on saturday. The college has different clubs like cultural club , sports club , photography club and these clubs are maintained by the college itself and it is very active.These culbs help in exploring the students extra talent other than studies and it will help student to relax their minds.

Total fees of the course and scholarship availability

The tuition fee is affordable and we can see hike in the fee every year but the hike is not too much and is affordable only. The complete cost of education is 60000 per year. The college offers scholarship to the people who have applied for post matric scholarships in the official webiste in the state of telanagana scholarship amount of around 25000 is given to general caste students.

Students view on course curriculum

I personally choose this course out of interest in the subject computer sciences because i wanted to know how apps and websites work. We will be teached with theoretical and practical aspects of the corurse. You have labs for coding and other related activities.The course is fine with its curiculum but the teaching methods must be changed somewhat because its difficult to write and explain about a code on a blackboard.

Students view on faculties

There is adequate faculty in some departments and in some departments there is lack of fcaulty and a single teacher has so much pressure since he has to teach for seperate years. The faculty are highly qualified with doctorates and have an experience of 10-15 years in the teaching ability.We interact with teachers regularly and seek for their guidance.

How to get admission in the college and what sets the college stand out ?

You have to qualify by writing EAMCET examination. In that examination you have to get a cutoff of 20000 rank.The sc/st have reservation and their cutoff is 35000.After checking the eligibility and cutoff we apply to this college through online counselling. The college intimates us to bring few certificates to complete admission process.

Actually I didn't get qualified in TS EAMCET exam and I didn't get good course based on my rank soo i wanted to take management seat soo my relative suggested this college. I didn't apply for any other college so i didn't get any rejection. My college admission process is qualifying in TS EAMCET exam and based upon rank they will assign the branch cut off of the college is CSE - 30K ,data science - 42k,aiml- 35k, mech-90k,ece -47k,eee-80k

My Experience

Likes

the college is located at outskirts of the city i.e near to the Village.
The main thing about the college about that i like is Environment of the college which is very peaceful and Atmosphere is good.
Another thing is Greenary in the college and The college is filled with the plant and trees.

Dislikes

Absolutely nothing places to visit near the college.
The campus is small which compared to my previous college TKR.

The colleges i applied for are the top 20 college in hyderabad and igot confirmed admission from some of the colleges which are far awy from my home.I choose this college by the Name. I Didn't admission from colleges that i have applied because of mycaste and marks i got in the entrance exam. At the time of making the list of colleges in the weboption the process went wrong. The admission process of college not only my but the collegs in the telangana includes the entrance exams like EMCET&ECET.The eligibility is to pass the INTERMIDIATE or DIPLOMA without backlogs.

I choose this college because I got placed in this college through EAMCET councelling.Comaring to other colleges I applied this is not that best,but not worst.I couldn't make to that colleges because mt EAMCET rank is not sufficient to enter into that colleges.The admission process includes verification of certificates,fee payment, not additional admission fee it includes in the fee payment only.
