MHT CET is a state-level entrance examination conducted by the State Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell, Maharashtra, for admission to Bachelor of Engineering (BE), Bachelor of Technology (BTech), Integrated MTech, and pharmacy courses offered at participating institutes across the state. The exam was conducted in two sessions this year, held in April and May 2026, after which the PCM and PCB results were declared in mid-to-late June 2026. The latest update is that the deadline for MHT CET 2026 counselling registration has been extended to July 16, 2026, at cetcell.mahacet.org.

- Counselling Registration & Document Verification: The registration window has been extended and is currently kept open until July 16, 2026, while the document verification process is scheduled to be completed by July 17, 2026.
- Provisional Merit List: The provisional merit list is scheduled to be published on July 19, 2026. Following this, a grievance window is expected to be provided for candidates from July 20 to 22, 2026.
- Final Merit List: The final merit list and the provisional category-wise seat matrix are slated to be displayed on July 24, 2026. Last year, the final merit list was released on July 24, 2025.
- Round 1 Choice Filling & Seat Allotment: The online submission of option forms for Round 1 is expected to be initiated in the last week of July 2026, and the provisional seat allotment results are expected to be declared in early August 2026. Last year, choice filling for the first seat allotment round was opened on July 26, 2025.
- Subsequent Allotment Rounds: Additional seat allotment rounds for vacant seats are expected to be conducted consecutively from August through September 2026. All institute-level and remaining admissions are expected to be finalized by the end of September 2026.
- PCM Result (First Attempt): The MHT CET 2026 PCM result for the first attempt was declared on June 15, 2026.
- PCB Result: The PCB result was released on June 17, 2026.
- PCM Result (Second Attempt): The PCM result for the second attempt was declared on June 19, 2026.
- MHT CET counselling will include more than 1.3–1.5 lakh seats in government, aided, private, autonomous, and minority colleges within Maharashtra.
- The MHT CET Counselling will consist of 3 CAP rounds and one institutional round if more seats are available.
- 85% seats are for Maharashtra students, and 15% for AIQ and category-wise distribution for all categories as per state norms.
The Document verification process is carried out online through e-scrutiny mode, where the documents will be uploaded and verified online at the allotted centres. The MHT CET Counselling fee is Rs 800 for General category candidates. For the reserved category of Maharashtra state, the counselling fee is Rs 600.
MHT CET 2026 saw a total of 18.12 lakh registrations across all professional courses, representing a 28% growth. For the first attempt, 4,79,334 students registered for the PCM group, with 94.73% attendance (4,54,079 students).
