Course Curriculum Overview

Landed at this course for practicing for IIT JEE once again. Course is brilliant. It has a triple major core in chemistry, physics and maths,. Computer applications are allied courses for semesters 1-5. During the final semester, we are supposed to choose the specialization in our field of the sciences of phy, chem and maths, The course is very nice for a research career. We got IT placement also at Delloitte, Cognizant, TCS, Wipro and MRF tyres. About 10 faculties were there and were very friendly and fully supportive. Al faculties were Ph.D. Subjects were taught nicely and so exams were easy. I cleared IIT Jam physics and hence I think that the syllabus is good. Many were confident and a few cleared IIT JAM chemistry too.

Campus Life

The clubs in the college are brilliant, run by students solely, and are active through out the year in conducting the events. They provide a good leadership opportunity, without any ragging of any sorts,, the seniors in the clubs behave like brothers. Kriya and intrams are college fests. There are about 21 clubs in college and they participate in these events. Intrams is a social fun type of gathering while kriya is a competitive events fest. Department events are also conducted, but only during kriya. Most of the required books are available in the library. computer section of the library is very nice and is available to use up to 8pm Some classrooms have edutech. Almost all classrooms have projectors.

Remarks

Positive remarks on the University of Allahabad are that this is the central university of Indian Government. The infrastructure is pretty good for education purpose. Teaching staff is very much knowledgeable. Apart from this a few demirits are also such as lack of descipline among students.

Placement Experience

Yes Sometimes some companies visited the college campus for the job interviews but they are not such a leading one. They are average companies and recruitment of students is also very low. But in some professional courses job opportunity are little better

There is a DU Common Admission form needs to be filled by student mentioning the percentage of marks secured in Senior Secondary and subject in which you are interested in to take admission. DU announces cut off list based on the percentage of marks and courses available in individual colleges. There were total of 4 cut off lists being announced by DU with a gap of 5 days between 2 cut off. I have got eligible for admission in 2nd cut off list based on my percentage and courses i chose. I chose B.Sc applied science which was being offered by 2 colleges only. 1. ARSD college 2. Deshbandhu college. I chose deshbandhu college as it is well known for its faculty and nearest to my home location.

Exam Structure

Amity has a very very hectic schedule, never leaving the students free except for Saturday Sunday. You will have atleast 10 subjects to study each semester with 2-3 labs. Students have to give assignments as it is a part of internal assessment. Also, during summer vacations, a summer internship research has to be done by every student in their choice of field and give a presentation on that.

Faculty

Faculty is very supportive and always ready to help in any aspect. Teachers are usually very much skilled and professional. Almost all Phd's . They are very helpful in making understand things. Every department has that 1-2 teachers that student don't like but other than that i found faculty to be supportive.

Ans. As explained by a B.Sc(Hons) Computer Science graduate from DU, there are the following scopes after the course: Job: If you are studying computer science at a college like Hansraj, KMC, or Venky, you may get a good job or your dream profile in a good company. If you believe and know that you will not be able to find work that is equivalent to your B.Sc Comp Sc, please do not apply.  Passion for Computers: If you want to go into research while still enjoying computer science, pursue an M.Sc in Comp Sc from DU or another reputable university such as Kolkata University or Bombay University. M.Sc. from DU is good, and you will be placed in good companies. Another possibility is an M.Sc. in Operational Research from DU.  MBA: MBA is also one of the best scopes for students to go ahead. There is an immense opportunity for good placements and better career options.  B.Sc (Hons.) in Computer Science has a much broader scope. The field of science and technology is ever-expanding, and the scopes it has to offer are based on research and development principles. When it comes to pursuing a degree such as Computer Science, graduates have numerous options. They may conduct field research or pursue careers in more financially lucrative fields. Ques. What are the future prospects of getting a BSc degree from DU? What are the best colleges in DU?

● Top Answer By Prashant Mathur on 12 Oct 22

Ans.  In today's world, getting a bachelor's degree from any college isn't worth much. DU has a brand name, but if your overall grades aren't good enough, having a degree from Delhi University is pointless. By providing many resources and an intellectual environment, Delhi University will assist you in exploring various aspects of your personality. However, if you have a bachelor's degree in any of the Science subjects or even Mathematics, you will need to do a master's or even a PhD to get a decent-paying job. However, if you are an SRCC or Stephens graduate, you may be able to get a good placement from the college itself if you have a degree in Arts or Commerce with above-average marks. The best colleges vary depending on your subject, such as SRCC for those interested in commerce. Stephen's is also regarded as one of the most prestigious universities. Other good colleges include Miranda House, Hindu, and Lady Shri Ram.Read more
