College !ife at Daulat Ram

Likes

Professors are good, some are very experienced, few are very friendly.
Infrastructure is moderate, but garden is pretty.

Dislikes

The infrastructure needs a lot of improvement, you will see structures falling down, the campus could be bigger, there are usually no empty classrooms left for gd, etc
Adminstration can be hectic anc time consuming

We have three papers, upt, iiipt and cni, all of these are helpful to enrich our knowledge of political science. But sec, vac, aec, can be time consuming and demanding. Ge, economics as ge is interesting.

college life at drc being a du student

Likes

i like the environment of my college alot, it being a girls college is very peaceful and quiet with events of different societies happeing everyday
the faculty of my department is also really nice even the teachers teach well
the quality of infra is also applaudable

Dislikes

the college is kind off small which limits us to do alot of things
the admissions department is a bit unreliable
the vac sec and even ge classes were started really late

i chose this course not particularly on the basis of this curriculum, DU provides abit unreasonable subjects made to enchance our skills and values but due to the lack of infra and teachers thats very unrealistic and becomes difficult for students due to the NEP 2020. the exams are of 90 -75 marks for core exams while the ge one is of 75 and the SAC AND VAC are of 50 -60 marks and the duration varies from 3 hours for core and 1 hour for VAC

Drc a cozy space

Likes

The campus is very cozy and aesthetically pleasing
The new building is definitely one of my favourite
New canteen food is bomb each and every item is good

Dislikes

The infrastructure could be better than it is
The auditorium is big but lack basic facilities, renovation should be done
Classrooma are too tiny and also the seating arrangement of chairs

I think the curriculum needs to be restructured as the nep policy was about enhancing the course experience but I don't see that anywhere including the newly introduced sec ,vac ,aec I think they are not up to the point and doesn't make much sense

DRC life

Likes

The diversity of college is good. I met a lot of new people from different regions of the country and it feels so good to connect with different people
Economics faculty is good and most of the teachers are cooperative.
There are so many departmental fests and it is really exciting for the students as well.

Dislikes

There is a lot of trouble with the network connection.
I personally don’t like the politics, even though there’s isn’t much politics in our college as it is a girls college but sometime politics turns the environment toxic.
The class allotted to us, is not upto the mark. Infrastructure is not something I like about our college.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Curriculum is old and rigid, they still teach old methods and syllabus is updated very slow. But with the introduction of SEC and VAC courses, students have some different options which they can choose to study for their semester.

The first and the foremost thing I like about this college is that it's situated in North campus. I really wanted to experience the culture and vibe of here.I have heard a lot of North campus from my family and relatives and being able to experience.
The faculty is really nice,experienced and genuinely knowledgable.Eco hons is known to be a tough course but the professors at drc make it feels easier.They break down theories and mathematical concepts in a simple structured way.
Drc also offers a range of courses across science, commerce and humanities which create a diverse academic environment.It makes the experience more rich and dynamic.

Dislikes

One of the things I dislike about drc is that even though it offers various courses,there are not enough classrooms because of this we often have to shift rooms and roam here and there in search of a class around the campus.

In future i am looking forward to pursue a career in finance or consulting.Eco hons not only builds a strong foundation but also provides a great career prospects for someone wants to pursue a career in policy making, banking, research and economics.This course is both theory heavy and practical.The difficultly level is from moderate to high.

Drc campus life

Likes

I like the north campus enviornment and the campus life
Being the girls college drc also gives lot of opportunities to express yourself and feels like a safe place
The faculty is great for my department they are quite supportive

Dislikes

It's become quite hectic in terms of classes and attendance criteria

it's a all girls college so you feel much mors comfortable surrounded by girls all around.
the societies are pretty fun and active. the fasion society being my favorite which i'm also a part of. the faculty is great.
the vibe is amazing and environment is very inclusive.

Dislikes

the sports facility is very poor. we don't even have a basketball ground or a team.
the infrastructure needs more attention specially for sports.
the placement and internship opportunities are very poor.

Course Curriculum Overview:

i think it's very outdated and not of any practical use unless you go for research and scientific fields of science. it does not prepare much for the real world and current market but teaches about biology and chemistry which helps sometimes. the frequency if exam is fine.

I really like my department, the professors are really sincere and devoted. They are very much dedicated
Our professors provide us with quality notes and materials.
The auditorium is also very huge and we'll equipped

Dislikes

The infrastructure could be better . The building need repair
The college hostel is very expensive as complained by many student
The timetables is very off setting and not productive

Placement Experience:

Well in my course , which is not technical and IT related, students mostly land paid interships from 2nd year . One of the most prestigious interships is the one with the vice chancellor. Placements among the commerce and IT students as far as I have heard is pretty good

Insights on DRC

Likes

The professors and teachers are really good and gives us motivation to study
The canteen and classrooms are well maintained
Safety in our college is a priority which is a merit

Dislikes

The sanitation facility especially the toilets are in a bad state
There are many inactive cells and societies that discourages the co curricular activities
The admin services are not very prompt and active there's always delayed gratifications

Glimpses of Daulat Ram College

Likes

Being situated in the heart of north campus, this college definitely offers great exposure and learning opportunities.
The economics faculty is quite experienced. One of the things that I genuinely appreciate is their ability to make us look beyond the bookish world and turn our focus on the real worl application of economics.
Daulat Ram College hosts a lot of cultural events and educational seminars.

Dislikes

The infrastructure at DRC is not upto the mark. Some of the buildings are still undergoing construction and sometimes it becomes a task to find an empty classroom because of the limited availability of rooms.
The class schedule is something that can be improvised upon. With one class starting at 10:30 and then the next at 3, it becomes inconvenient for the students.

As a person who wants to build a strong foundation in both economics and mathematics, B.A.(Hons.) Economics was my first choice. This course not only provide valuable insights into how real world economics work, but it also has great career prospects. Students studying economics major actively take consulting, research, risk management as popular career choices. Since this is a practical course with a broad focus on mathematics, the difficulty level is from moderate to high.
