I chose the course because of the pedagogy, subjects like semiotics and Imagining India set this course apart from other courses that conventional B-schools provide. Faculty to student ratio is decent. The faculties are helpful.
The placements are good with ROI being almost 1. Several companies visit for summer as well as finals. They do publish a placement report every year and all the details are given in that. Most of the roles offered are in the marketing department.
The wonderful thing about MICA is that, apart from offering expertise in several sectors, placement also stays 100% guaranteed, Every year, fresh recruiters join the recruiting drive, and the placement cell works tirelessly. The highest package is in the range of 49-50 LPA, while the average is around 15 LPA. Google, ITC, Aditya Birla, Amazon, and others are among the top recruiters.
The college placements are certainly a drawback. Although some students have secured top packages with the highest at 52.8 lakhs, in 2020, in some of the top companies in India, the average stood at 13.9 lakhs which is really less compared to the B-Schools in its league. The low placements can be attributed to the high number of low-paying agencies hiring from the college. However, most top brands of the country open their competitions to MICA, which becomes a decent way for its students to achieve good placements. Overall the college always receives 100% placements, barring a few students who opt out of the process. This is true for both summer and final placements. The number of PPO and PPI holders at MICA also stood at 25% which is a very encouraging number.
Campus placements were well-conducted and timely, considering the pandemic this last year as well. For my summer placements in 2019, the process started in September and ended in early October, where I was placed at PUMA India Ltd. For the final placements as mentioned earlier, i was placed at Collegedunia.com. 100% of students have received placements and companies ranged from HUL to here. The highest salary was about 32L, average Salary is still unknown. My plans after placements are to do extremely well at my new job and hopefully being at collegedunia for a long time and being an integral part of its success going ahead.
