What's New in MICA Ahmedabad?
- The applications for the PG Certificate in Crafting Creative Communications (CCC) admission 2025 is open and the last date to apply is January 11, 2025, and the Written Test will be held on January 25, 2025.
- The applications for PGDM and PGDM-C are open for the academic year 2025-27 and the last date to apply for MICAT-I registration is November 22, 2024.
XAT 2025 Registration is open at xatonline.in for admission to MBA/ PGDM courses. The last date to register for XAT 2025 is November 30, 2024. Due to the addition of 34 new exam cities, candidates who have already submitted their application form can make edits and select new exam cities between September 28 to September 29. The exam is scheduled to be conducted on January 5, 2025.

MICA Ahmedabad offers a 2-year flagship PGDM and PGDM in Communication. The admission into the PGDM courses is based on CAT/ XAT/ GMAT scores, followed by the MICAT test and GE & PI. MICAT is an institute-level test conducted by MICA, which has 3 sections i.e., a Psychometric Test, a Descriptive test, and the last section includes Divergent and Convergent Thinking; Verbal ability, Quantitative ability, Data Interpretation and General awareness.

The candidates are firstly shortlisted for the GE & PI round on the basis of their performance in the CAT/ XAT/ GMAT, and their performance in MICAT. A composite score is calculated for the preparation of the GE & PI list, and the weightage of both exams is 50% each.

The following steps are considered while preparing the final merit list.
- Step 1: The Section A (Psychometric test) of MICAT is the qualifier round. The candidate's performance in the Section A is checked first.
- Step 2: Those who qualify for section A, their CAT/ XAT/ GMAT scores will be considered. The candidates should have cleared the minimum cutoff.
- Step 3: Those who clear the minimum cutoff of CAT/ XAT/ GMAT, their performance in Section C (all sub-sections) of MICAT will be assessed.
- Step 4: For those who qualify in section C, their performance in section B (Descriptive test) of MICAT is evaluated.

MICA Ahmedabad FPM Selection Process 2025
The candidates will be firstly shortlisted on the basis of the telephonic interview and then the final selection will be on the basis of their performance in the MICA’s FPM Admission Test. The FPM Admission test is a 3-day test that includes the following stages:
- Written Test: The written test will be an open book exam, which will evaluate the candidate’s theoretical understanding of communication, their ability to investigate a communication phenomenon, and their ability to interpret data and draw conclusions.
- Individual Presentation: The candidates will have to give a 15-minute presentation on the submitted research proposal.
- Personal Interview: During the personal interview, the panelists will assess the candidate’s personality and passion for research.

Should have given either CAT or GMAT and MICAT. The form can be found on the college website. There are 2 exams, MICAT 1 and MICAT2, best of 1 taken into consideration. Then there is Group Exercise and Personal Interview.

You will have to write CAT and then MICAT, after applying for admission through the MICA website, they will consider both CAT and MICAT scores and then shortlist people for GEPI based on it. Then after GEPI, they release the final list. There is no reservation and you have two chances to write MICAT with MICAT 1 and MICAT 2 (Both almost 1 month apart). All the details and requirements are present on their official website.

There are a variety of specialties available for management degrees, but I became interested in advertising and brand management throughout my graduation. You can apply through the CAT exam and MICAT exam. It is among the top 30 B-schools. Filling out the application form is done online, and you can follow all steps given in the website, and the whole process is smooth.

"The School of Ideas" - as the motto of MICA goes, this college is perhaps the only business school in India that is dedicated to merging creativity with entrepreneurship. The college solely focuses on marketing and its students stand out among other B-school graduates in roles of Strategic Marketing and Communication. For admissions at MICA, a candidate must give two exams - CAT/XAT and MICAT. No specific cut-offs for either exam are revealed by the institute but a 90 percentile in CAT/XAT along with a 42+ score in MICAT is considered a good score to get a call for GE -PI. MICA's niche in marketing and communication is felt across industries through its notable alumni network. Its curriculum has also upgraded offers subjects in other areas of management like HR and finance etc, however, it is not nearly at par with other b-schools. Therefore, MICA is a good option for all those who have not been able to crack top B-schools and are willing to make a career solely in marketing.
Admission:
MICA, the School of Ideas, focuses on creativity, positioning itself as a niche marketing college. The batch size is small relative to the major IIMs, and for its placements receives unique brands like EA and NBA. This was why I decided to pursue my MBA from here. The College has good faculty, with tremendous experience from various colleges. College life and peer to peer learning is the something that is most attractive part in my opinion. But, some of the courses tend to be redundant and can be curated better. I was an education counselor at IMS Learning Resources Pvt Ltd, and through my mentor there, I decided to go to MICA. I preferred this college over MDI and new IIMs as I believe it is more established in the field of Marketing and has good placement prospects as well. Although, if I would have converted my XLRI call I would have chosen XLRI over MICA.

One of the good aspects of MICA is its forte in marketing. It is termed as MECCA OF MARKETING! The campus is scenic especially during MICANVAS. The pedagogy adopted is very inclusive. The placements are also decent. The admission criteria include scores of MICAT( held twice), CAT/ XAT/ GMAT, group exercise, personal interview, past academic records as well as work experience. I preferred MICA over my other converts due to my affinity towards marketing and media. I referred to collegedunia, not just in my post-graduation but also in graduation.

The selection criteria include CAT, XAT and GMAT score (anyone can work), MICAT (held twice)-any score above 50 would be great. I preferred MICA over other colleges as its the 'MECCA OF MARKETING' and I have a strong affinity for various areas of marketing and advertising. The pros of the institute are its renowned faculty that includes acclaimed academicians, visiting faculty and industry experts, its serene campus and its strong alumni base. The cons include its quite high fees and its non-favorability for students who aspire to pursue general management, finance or OB-HR as the course curriculum is inclined toward the various dimension of marketing and creativity.

The good aspects include its faculty, campus and pedagogy. I preferred this college over the others as I have strong inclinations towards various dimensions of marketing. The cons include its high fees and the long distance between the campus and the main city.

I preferred MICA over other colleges I converted to explore my affinity for advertisements and marketing as a whole. The cons of the institute its course curriculum are totally inclined towards marketing and it is not appropriate for students aspiring to excel in operations or finance.
