Mecca of marketing

The application process is very simple. You will have to write CAT and then MICAT, after applying for admission through the MICA website, they will consider both CAT and MICAT scores and then shortlist people for GEPI based on it. Then after GEPI, they release the final list. There is no reservation and you have two chances to write MICAT with MICAT 1 and MICAT 2 (Both almost 1 month apart). The reason I chose this course is because of the excellent visiting faculty as well as the interesting job roles offered to them in placements. Good facult:student ratio, with almost all of them having PhD. The exams are not that hard to pass with there being 3 final semester exams every year.

Disney, ITC, HUL, Google, P & G are few comonaies that visit. They offered packages ranging from 25K to 2,25L per Month. Most of the selection process involved multiple rounds of interviews and GD. Most of them were selected for their company's respective summer internship programs(ITC Kite, Disney Star Program etc..)

The placements are good with ROI being almost 1. Several companies visit for summer as well as finals. They do publish a placement report every year and all the details are given in that. Most of the roles offered are in the marketing department.

The fee is 22 lakh for 2 years with it being hiked slightly every year. There is a scholarship for students who do well academically and for those who need economic backing. The average stipend for summer interns range between 80K-1 Lakh INR per month.

The infrastructure is adequate but pales in comparison to some of the old IIMs. Several events happen yearly hosted by different clubs. College also promotes sports extensively. The college is in a very secluded location in Ahmedabad, which can get very annoying at times.

The hostel facility is decent in the first year but in the second year, the single occupancy room is very small. There are only common washroom facilities available. The meal quality is decent, exactly what you would expect from a college mess

The GE round had us making a poster for a post-apocalyptic world. I didn't do any specific preparation for this. The interview question was mainly about the SOP I submitted. Other than having a decent knowledge of current affairs, no other specific preparation is required.
