What's New in LMTSM?
The notification for the CAT and XAT exams has been released.
- The last date to apply for the CAT exam is September 13, 2024. The admit card will be made available from November 5, 2024, and the exam will take place on the 4th Sunday of November, i.e., November 24, 2024. Students can visit @iimcat.ac.in and register for the same. The results are expected to release in January of next year.
- The last date to apply for the XAT exam is yet to be released. However, the deadline for the registration as well as the Admit Card will be made available from December, 2024. The Exam will take place on January 5, 2025. Students can visit the official XAT website for the same.

LM Thapar School of Management (LMTSM) is a private management institute that is run under Thapar University (Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology) approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). At present, the university offers a full-time MBA and MBA (Business Analytics and Big Data Program) at the postgraduate level and Ph.D. and Executive Ph.D. at the research level. - Registration for All the courses offered by LMTSM can be made online after payment of INR 1200.
- Candidates with graduation or post-graduation degrees in any discipline with 50% in aggregate marks from recognized institutes are eligible for admission to LMTSM.
- Selection to the MBA program will be conducted on the basis of a valid CAT/XAT/CMAT/MAT/GMAT/NMAT by GMAC/GRE/SNAP/Thapar Management Aptitude Test scores.
- The selection process of the shortlisted MBA candidates will be conducted on the basis of Group Interaction and performance in Personal Interviews via online mode.

LMTSM MBA Eligibility
The candidates following any one of the given eligibility criteria are eligible for admission to the MBA program by LMTSM.
- Graduate Degree in any discipline with 50% in aggregate marks or CGPA or grade secured from recognized University/Institute.
- Post Graduate degree in any discipline with 50% marks in aggregate or CGPA or Grade from a recognized University/Institute.
- A graduate degree with a pass in all parts/sections of the Intermediate examination of CA/ ICWA/ ACS.
- Applicants having extraordinary managerial/leadership potential demonstrated through at least one year of experience are exempt from having 50% marks in their graduation/post-graduation.
LMTSM MBA Selection Process
Candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of their CAT/XAT/NMAT/GRE/GMAT/CMAT/MAT/SNAP/Thapar Management Aptitude Test scores. The selection process of the shortlisted candidates will be conducted on the basis of Group Interaction and performance in Personal Interviews via online mode.

LMTSM Application Process 2024
Registration for MBA program of Thapar School of Mangement can be online on http://lmtsm.thapar.edu/. Aspirants can follow the given procedure to fill the application form correctly. The application fee for admission is INR 1,200:
Step 1: Submit your application online at www.lmtsm.thapar.edu along with detailed information. You will be required to fill in the basic details along with academic scores and management test scores (if any).
Step 2: Your application will be reviewed by the admissions committee and will be communicated to you by Email and SMS on the day of Short-Listing of Candidates.
Step 3: An in-person evaluation process will be conducted by LMTSM, an academic readiness test and an interview round. During this, you will need to very explicitly demonstrate why you want to enroll in the program, your understanding of what the program has to offer and your contribution to the program. The latest evaluation process is available on the website www.lmtsm.thapar.edu.
Step 4: The final decision of the admissions committee on the basis of your performance in the evaluation process will be communicated to you via email and SMS.
Step 5: The shortlisted candidates will have a few days to register for the program via E-counselling or In-person counselling and submit all documents and fees pertaining to the program.
Note: Scan all the required documents carefully, without lacking any detail, before filling the online application form.
LMSTM Selection Process
The following are the various components of this assessment:
A. Professional Readiness: It comprises two parts:
- Video Statement of Purpose - A short video (not exceeding 03 minutes, preferably MP4 format), submitted before the interview, describing the following points:
- Your motivation to pursue an MBA
- What is unique about you as a person?
- Interview - An interaction with the admissions panel, where the applicant is assessed for the overall fit.
B. Academic Readiness: It comprises two parts:
- Quant & Verbal Aptitude Test - To be assessed based on applicant’s valid CAT/XAT/ NMAT by GMACTM/ GRE/ GMAT/ CMAT/ MAT/ SNAP score. Applicants without a valid score in the above-mentioned tests must appear for the Thapar Management Aptitude Test (60 mins in duration), on the day of the interview.
- Non-verbal Aptitude Test - A 40 minutes test on non-verbal reasoning, conducted on the day of the interview, and is mandatory for all applicants.
C. Academic History: It comprises three parts:
- Class 10 Performance
- Class 12 Performance
- Bachelor’s Degree Performance

Ques. What are the eligibility criteria for Ph.D. courses, offered by LMTSM?
Ans. The candidates must have a Post Graduate Degree/ CA/ CS/ ICWA/ CFA/ B.E/ BTech degree with a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate or BE/B.Tech with a minimum of 80% marks in aggregate from a recognized board or university.
Ques. Does LMTSM offer UG courses?
Ans. No, LMTSM does not offer UG courses. The college only offers courses at the PG level. The courses offered are MBA, Executive(MBA), Ph.D, and Executive(Ph.D.).
Ques. How are the placements at LMTSM?
Ans. LMTSM has consistently maintained a record of offering the best placement opportunities. Companies like EY, Deloitte, KPMG, Godrej, Hyundai, Nestle, TATA, and American Express visit the campus regularly to offer placements.
Ques. Does LMTSM offer scholarships?
Ans. Yes, scholarships are available for the candidates based on the marks in their previous qualifying examination. Financial assistance for pursuing a Ph.D (Executive) is also provided to the students fulfilling the eligibility criteria.
Ques. What is the selection procedure for an MBA?
Ans. After submission of the application form the candidate has to appear for a personal interview on being shortlisted. The final merit list is prepared based on the interview and the candidates are communicated the decision of their selection.

Admission:
To be eligible either you give T-MAT exam that is thapar's entrance exam. You can apply through CAT also, the required cutoff is 60%. After that PI is done. Application form can be found on their website.

- The campus is very green. There's a lot of plants and trees.
- The faculty is approachable and qualified to teach there.
Dislikes
- The location of the college is something everyone will hate.
- It's near a small village and between kilometres of farms.
Admission:
Eligibility of course has some basic requirements and the rest is dependent on your previous academics plus your Personal interview. Reservation benefits are not known to me. The admission process is fine. I Could have more communication but overall it's okay.

During my pursuit of a good MBA, I initially looked for the best colleges and to get those I appeared for CAT and NMAT examinations. I wasn't able to get very high scores consistently throughout my academic years in 10th, 12th and Graduation so with whatever I got with me I looked for some decent MBA Schools. One of my friends suggested me for Thapar as he was also doing MBA from here only. So then I decided to appear for its selection process. Admission went quite smoothly as the first step was of initial online screening through which they were shortlisting the candidates for final counselling based on previous scores and academic history and also scores of NMAT and CAT. Once shortlisted I was called for further processes of Group Discussion and Final Interview. It went well as they only asked us about ourselves and what we did in our graduation.
Admission:
As I am doing an MBA, the admission is based on their entrance exam and the interview. According to that, the selection of candidates will be done. There is no issue of age but the course of MBA is to be done after bachelors. For the admission process, the candidate needs to submit all the necessary documents with signature and then the further process will be going on.

Admissions are on a merit basis. Merit is prepared on the basis of academic performance and entrance exam scores of the student. The counseling process was pretty easy. After the interview, I went through the document verification process.

You have to appear for the CAT exam which is an entry-level management test for admission to an MBA program in any college in the country. Students clearing the entrance test are then invited for a counselling round which includes interview round and document verification round.

Firstly i have cleared entrance exam NMAT and then there was 2 more phases i.e Group discussion and then personal interview.The marks for all three phases got together and i ad cleared the required cut off then i was asked to get admission.

I got admission in LM Thapar School of management through my CAT score. You can also apply through NMAT, CMAT, MAT or you can give the Thapar test which is conducted by Thapar during the admission process. The admission process is divided into 3 rounds. First is the TU test. second is a group discussion and third is a personal interview. The admission process starts in March and the results are declared by the second week of April.

Got to know about this college from a friend then I searched on the internet (collegedunia.com), reviews were good so I applied for MBA program was shortlisted for group discussion and interview round. It held on 21 May at Delhi YMCA, cp .they also conduct one scholarship test and provide to approx. 75 student.
Admission:
Overall good. The campus is really well equipped with all facilities and energetic atmosphere. The infrastructure is good and the teachers are really well qualified.
